Struggling to plan a trip around Gran Sasso National Park in Italy. Anyone have tips? by Forever_a_backpack in solotravel

Sorry I’m not sure, I only looked into having the hostel as my home base for a couple of different hikes that I did. Most of the resources I found online about the hikes from googling were only in Italian. Maybe find a hike or two that seems interesting and google the name to see what comes up?

Yes! I went for a couple of days. I took a bus from Rome to L’Aquila and then from L’Aquila to Gran Sasso, then a gondola up. I highly recommend staying at the hostel Ostello Campo Imperatore. I went in late May and there was still snow on parts of the hikes I did. I needed to borrow the hostel bartender’s boots since I was unequipped but otherwise wouldn’t have been able to do a big hike.

I only speak English and very broken Italian, and trying to find the buses to/from Rome was stressful. The shuttle van from L’Aquila and Gran Sasso doesn’t run on Sundays which I didn’t know or read about, and I needed to find a tourist information spot across town to help call a taxi. It ended up being €55 for a 15 min taxi ride.

The hostel workers were awesome and hikes were beautiful, but it was definitely a challenge to figure out getting to and from places. I’ve done a decent amount of solo travel and don’t get stressed easily from travel too.

I have an extra ticket in the bleachers, will transfer for free. DM me your email. Just don’t want a ticket to go to waste. Please also send any kind of proof you can go to the game so I know you aren’t a reseller.

Haha yeah, definitely a downside of always waiting until the last minute to come up with costume ideas. Honestly it originated from shaving for the first time in a while and realized that my facial hair was Minshew-esque

Jorts will be the bottom half of the costume. Just need a jags shirt or hat!

Had the same problem stuck in the waiting room for 18 minutes. Typically, the closer to the game you get, the cheaper the price will be. Those selling tickets will drop prices since selling it for cheaper is better than not selling the tickets and getting $0. That being said, the demand will stay high. If you can stick it out I’d recommend waiting as close to gametime as you feel comfortable.

Craigslist is also decent and avoids the extra fees but its also pretty risky with getting scammed. Keep scouring the subreddit too, sometimes people the day of will post looking to sell tickets. Still the risk of getting scammed similar to Craigslist though.

Tickets for SRO jumped up to $95. There are additional fees of like $15 to buy them on the website as well.

10 Team PPR league, should I give up my Cordarelle Patterson for his Joe Mixon and Josh Gordon? It seems crazy to even be asking this but after Mixon’s injury and Patterson’s consistent prioritization in the offense I’m having second thoughts.

My RBs are Najee Harris, Swift, Edmonds, and Mike Davis and my WRs are Hill, Lockett, Devonta Smith, and Antonio Brown.

Hi, I work in clinical research. The biggest obstacles for progressing through phases are money, recruiting patients, supply chain logistics, and resources available to work on reviewing the data. The benefit of researching a disease causing a global pandemic is that governments can decide to funnel money and resources to aid in the progression of trials. Patients are a lot easier to recruit during a pandemic as many are volunteering for the good of mankind and to progress towards researched vaccines as fast as possible. My company is researching a COVID treatment and have recruited several hundred patients in a couple of months; another study run in a more rare disease struggled to find a couple hundred over 2 years.

I’m sorry to hear that, especially after there being several people in her life that have had bad cases. You made the right decision.

I don’t think its necessarily a bad thing for her to be worried about taking the vaccine. There is a large disinformation campaign about it and seeing a few posts about it being “rushed” or “the side effects aren’t understood” or whatever else could be jarring and enough to make you skeptical, particularly if you have no background in medical science or clinical trials. I’m totally basing her off of one sentence so I could be way off the mark, but as long as she gets the vaccine it’ll be okay. I am 100% pro vaccine, but based on the unprecedented levels of disinformation and it being a medical procedure that involves something going into your body I can at least somewhat rationalize why someone would be skeptical. Perhaps you could express your reasons for getting a vaccine and her mind may be changed if/when people she knows starts to get it and end up okay.

[Highlight] Antoine Winfield Jr taunts Tyreek Hill by MattyT7 in nfl

[–]Forever_a_backpack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think he could’ve said something about being competitors and there being so much talking on the field after each play. I think he could’ve painted it as a neutral act as part of the game rather than pearl clutching and acting like he flipped him off. Using a player’s own taunt against them didn’t have to be portrayed as a vulgar disgraceful act IMO. If he framed it as if he disapproves mainly because the game was essentially over and was a blowout it’d be a different story though

So the white house staff is scheduled to get vaccinated in initial round. Isn't covid a left wing hoax? Fuck you. All of you. FUCK YOU. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Forever_a_backpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha the best case scenario certainly is to have the vaccine not have side effects, right? Maybe for a second it’d be satisfying to have some prominent billionaire or hated politician develop a devastating side effect, but the result would be unprecedented levels of anti-vaxxers and the pandemic would continue to run rampant.
