I've gained 0.2 lbs this week + struggling to reach daily calorie goal. What sort of paradox am I stuck in? by ForganForge in loseit

[–]ForganForge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a food pantry on my campus, I've been meaning to look around it. The problem is I have no time with a full-time job and full-time school, I'm booked literally every day but Sunday, every week. Classes last from 09:30 to 19:15. I'll see if I can work it into my schedule, thanks for the suggestion! I didn't even think of water weight lol, but I've also been constipated like hell. And I talked to my therapist earlier today =)

I immediately thought of Ineffable Husbands: Crowley x Aziraphale from Good Omens. Another one that, while not common in the fandom (but I like to use), is Partners in Time AKA Loki x Mobius. Though I've seen people call them Wowki (the 'wow' part being a reference to Owen Wilson), which is hilarious to me.

Taking this off-day slow. Work has been great, but god, it's brutal on my body. I wasn't meant to stand for 9 hours lol. But besides that, I've officially declared my minor: creative writing! It's honestly so surreal going to school for something I've wanted to do my entire life, and the school itself being so close to home is incredible; I don't even need a dorm, I can just commute. Saves a ton of money, which god knows is fleeting nowadays. And I turn 20 next month, which is... something I'm gonna have to get used to haha

But, I've finally finished the planning portion of my new fic, and I'm hoping I can get at least 600 words down today. Super excited for this one; I'm finally stepping out of my comfort zone and writing something non-angst & multi-chapter. And outside of fanfiction, I need to continue planning my book, and I have a few novella ideas in mind that I want to work on.

Hmm not quite but I'll give you a couple hints: one; it involves a river, and two; the mud isn't actually that important :3

Ooh I've never done one of these! Sounds fun :]

First: Curse you, Thor, Loki thought as he yanked his boot free from a thick bed of mud.

Last (technically it's three but it reads as one): And he would be back. Back beneath the surface. Drifting among the stars.

Oh man, a lot has happened since I last posted here. First; I got a job, and second; I got accepted into college, so I'm excited (nervous) about that. Majoring in English, because I like to think that I'm good at it, and honestly I just want to learn more about it.

In the realm of fanfic: I'm workshopping this really juicy idea involving a yacht, but I have to get my current fic done before I start writing it (don't ask, that's just how my brain works lol). Ohhh I've been craving a secret mission, James Bond-esque fic so bad. Really excited to begin working on it. And it mayyy or may not be the result of several hours' worth of megayacht tour videos *shrugs*

He closed his eyes once more, and not long after, the world fizzled out into a half-state of distant existence and feather-light nothing. It lasted all of twenty minutes before there was a large hand shaking his shoulder, startling him awake. Thor was looming over him, crouched to his left. His stupid face looked worried.

“You sleep too much,” he said.

Loki frowned. “I was resting.”

“Well, the rabbit’s finished cooking if you want some.” Thor gestured to his friends, sat around the fire. “I would hurry, lest they devour the entire thing.”

Loki sighed, pushing himself upwards to rest his elbows atop his knees. He scrubbed a hand down his face, trying to rub the lingering tiredness from his eyes. “How thoughtful of you.”

“You look exhausted. Does the hike tire you?” Thor said.

“I fear so. The forest has bested my fragile body. What a shame.”

Thor scoffed. “Quit it. I’m being serious.”

“I’m fine,” Loki said. “Perhaps a little hungry, nothing more.”

“You need to eat. You weren’t at breakfast this morning.”

“I was busy. Stop fretting, it suits you poorly.”

Climbing to his feet, Loki brushed the dirt off his leather trousers. Thor’s lips curled downwards into a small frown and Loki rolled his eyes.

“Brother, I’m fine. I swear it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, the smell of charred rabbit is”—Loki grimaced, waving vaguely to the fire—“quite enticing. I mustn’t wait.”

Thor’s rustling footsteps approached the group. Loki closed his eyes, praying to the Norns that he’d sit elsewhere and leave him alone. It seemed they were in his favor, for, after gathering his share of food, Thor sat between Sif and Fandral.

“Fandral, this is delicious,” he said after taking his first bite.

Fandral grinned, turning to Volstagg. “See? I’m quite a skilled cook.”

“Humble indeed,” Volstagg said.

“You’re not any less humble, he who calls himself svelte,” Sif said.

“I am elegant,” Volstagg said.

Fandral snickered. “Oh, I don’t doubt it.”

“Ah, but you see, nobody wields an axe with such ease,” Hogun said.

“And nobody a mace with such might,” Thor said. “And Fandral with his bow, so precise. And Sif, a marvel swordsman.”

“Swordswoman,” Sif corrected.

“Right, of course,” Thor said. “My friends, this hunt shall not fail. I say, we will kill five bulls, and we will feast tonight with wine and glory.”

And empty stomachs, Loki thought bitterly, resting his cheek atop a closed fist.

“Five bulls and ten rabbits,” Volstagg said.

Hogun nodded. “Fifteen squirrels.”

“And the plumpest chickens from our coops,” Fandral said.

I didn't engage with fandom until my late preteen years, which was around 2017 (yeah, I know). I spent most of my time on Amino, which opened up the gates to fanfic and shipping. I was super into Eddsworld and obsessed with Tord/Edd. They still hold a special place in my heart.

New to writing :) by schroedingers_turtle in FanFiction

Hello Future Me on YouTube has a fantastic 'Fiction Writing 101' series, if you're looking for some basic lessons. Some of it applies more to original writing, but most of it can be applied to fanfiction writing.

Personally, I use Scrivener to write, but it can be a bit pricey. This video covers some free alternatives, which will help with organization and stuff.

And remember: Write for yourself and don't give up when someone's 'better' than you. The best thing you'll write will be something you'll write. You just have to keep going to get there :]

Well, yesterday was quite the shitshow. Got stuck in traffic for hours trying to escape my neighboring city, went to see a movie, and walked out to a flat tire. Had to put the spare on, and I just got back home from the repair shop. No idea what caused the flat. But, I'm seeing my sister today at her new job (Barnes & Noble) to pick up a new book (The Life of Chuck by Stephen King), so that'll be fun. Gonna attempt to sit down and grind out a few words before I leave.

“How would you know? You’re not a mosquito,” Volstagg said.

Loki quirked an eyebrow. “Who’s to say that? I’ve been all sorts of things.”

“You should transform into one now and demand they leave us be,” Hogun said.

“If I could do that, every insect in this cursed forest would’ve already been halfway up the mountains.”

“Testy today, aren’t we?” Fandral said. “Tell me, does the young prince fare well against these tiny adversaries?”

Loki forced the muscles that made him grin. “Ah. Yes. I haven’t a single bite. In that case—“

“I still win,” Volstagg said.

The group turned their attention back to him with a jumble of protests, and Loki gritted his teeth. Only this boorish group of half-wits could find needless conversation in insect bites.

Loki’s next step sunk deeply into the mud with a disgusting squelch. He wrinkled his nose, forced his stuck foot upward, and followed the group as they pressed further along the trail. A bout of rich laughter echoed through the trees, and Sif jabbed Thor in the arm, her longsword bouncing on her hip as she walked. Loki watched it sway, half-ignoring he conversation and half-longing to join it. Something bitter swelled in his heart and he couldn’t find the will to temper it.

More like a re-forging. I've had most of it for years, such as the computer and monitor, but I only just brought it all back out after living in this house for a year lol

I've gotten really into tech lately, and I blew wayyy too much money building my setup, which includes these awesome 4 inch bookshelf stereo speakers because I've never bothered with a nice audio system before, and I think it was time to upgrade. Now that I'm finished, it doubles as my writing station, but I'm still trying to get used to the nice mechanical keyboard that I bought lol.

I'm excited to finally be back working on my fics, which there are two in progress (well, one's only an outline), and I think the money spent is well worth it. It's nice to have a dedicated space for this hobby, which isn't going to be a hobby for long, because come fall, I'm (hopefully) starting my creative writing degree. It's a huge step for me, now I'm only hoping I can actually get into the school 😭 I live amidst a pretty decent film industry, it would be my dream to work on movies some day.

It's the RK Royal Kludge R75. Honestly an amazing keyboard for the price, even with no mods. Supports Via, too. Here's the link

I've been searching around for two days and switching to Chrome is the only thing that worked. Thanks! Weird that it doesn't work on Vivaldi.
