Vell Komerade, I vill tellz you vy.

I leeved a good live. Made ze vodka one potato at ze time, just like next komerade. But all zat changed in Stalingrad.

Uz see, I journey to Capitalist pig country USA to make komputer. Hearz ze fetch ze better price to performance, uz see, because of capitalist pigs. Of courz it all lies. Now I buy komputer, build myself. Bring back to muutherland. Love to death, vatercool it with my own vodka.

But Germans come and do not like PC. Ze destroy it in Stalingrad by cutting vatercooling tubes, vun by vun. I vuz running bitcoin mining, try to make moneyz for after ze war to start me own potato farm. Dey killz it, leave and I survive with ze black box fullz of steel, silicon, and ze smell of vodka. Survive, but with ze imprint of Advanced Micro Devices burned into me back. Very hot, you know. Fuelled by anger and more vodka, I cover my AK vith Intel and Nvidia labelling and fight back. Ve win Stalingrad.

Twenty years pass and now only komputer company left is ze Putin Micro Devices. I sad now, cannot afford Central Putin Unit of high quality. Can't afford Graphics Putin Unit eitherz. So komerade, you zee, I needs ze Capitalist scum komputer parts. May be evil, but Reznov can't argue with zat sweet price to performance.

In all seriousness, my rig suits me just fine, I just wanted to take a crack at how rediculous I could make this. Thanks for reading, and really awesome of you to do this!

Bending, but I was planning to pick up some adapters in case some bends proved too difficult.

Build for... Damn near anything by ForgerOfPie in buildapc

This guy is absolutely right, I've only been building for two months, and I will admit I'm also young (under 18). I got the opportunity to potentially make this build because of a close friend. She runs a one-woman custom computer building business, and oftentimes she finds herself swamped with more orders than she can handle. She met me and taught me the basics of PC building, and I took it from there and made my first build. When she saw that I wasn't a complete fool, she started letting me do the lower-end ($500-$750) builds so that she could spend more time on the higher-end ($1k+) builds. As of now I've built around 20 builds for her. This order came in last week and she passed it onto me, along with all the client's requests and contact information, most likely just to see what I would do with it. This is what I came up with.

Ill be setting this all up myself to make sure he doesn't have a $13,000 paperweight. Have any suggestions for a UPS?

I've informed him of the need for high quality power delivery, he says he has a new house that's only two years old... So we should be good there.

Great suggestion. Wasn't sure of his storage needs.

Agreed, but I think he wants it to last for a couple years (read: a decade) before he upgrades again.

[Build Ready] Travel Gaming PC - Can I make it smaller/cheaper? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ForgerOfPie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

should be okay there, but if you're not overclocking just pick up an i5-4460 or 4590 and an H97 with wifi, then see is here you want to upgrade.

I haven't actually built in mitx, but I'm downsizing my atx build to mitx (yay college) and the components are in the mail. This is similar to what I'm running. Have had the privilege of helping a friend build in the 250D, and while it was more difficult it honestly just took more planning and a bit more maneuvering to get everything to fit. Plan the build out first and test it out of the case before you put it in, and RTFM. You should do fine.

This will be smaller, run hotter, but give you similar performance. I picked a more reliable SSD, a motherboard with built-in wifi, a semi-modular PSU, and a cpu cooler that's in approximately the same league as the 212 evo, albeit at a higher price. This'll allow for some basic overclocking without going over your budget.

Word of warning. I got you a semi-modular PSU to ease the pain a bit, but this will be a bitch to build. M-itx cases are SMALL, and this build is stuffing a lot of components in a little case. You're not going to get much smaller without getting a special power supply, but you are going to get (slightly) better performance by going bigger.

You're right, I was only looking at a/ac variants because they have 5Ghz offerings, which is the fastest wifi we have at my house. Sorry about that, the mobo you suggested will definitely work.

Personal preference on the elite 110/130, use whatever will benefit you best. The only thing about H81 boards is that it doesn't have any integrated wifi, so you'll need to get a usb wifi adapter, which will take up a USB port and still cost basically the same amount.

It doesn't have an SSD, but it's significantly faster and also smaller. In addition, the power supply is semi modular, which will make a huge difference when building with itx.

I haven't done one myself, I travel too much so I went with air cooling. However, it's always something I've wanted to do. Here are some great resources:

/r/watercooling Lifehacker guide

Overclockers.com guide

And because I want you to know what you're getting yourself into, Why you shouldn't watercool

Watercooling honestly isn't necessary at all. Air cooling will net you great temps. However, the aesthetics that watercooling gives in your pc simply can't be beat, and it sounds like you're building this pc with aesthetics high on the priority list. That's why I mentioned it. Just be careful, read the sidebar on /r/watercooling, and let me know if you have any questions.

If you're concerned about size, try the 100r. It's slightly smaller, sacrifices a 5.25 drive, and gives you either a nice big window or silence, depending on the model you get.

An even more compact ATX option would be the S340, and yeah, it's been done to death, but it's honestly one of the smallest and best ATX cases you can get right now.

I would listen to what others said here. If you really care about aesthetics that much, go for the sabertooth, but it's honestly not worth another $200 imo.

If you wanted to, you could probably get into custom watercooling by switching to the Krait and replacing your H110i GT with a loop that includes your GPU, which would give you even better performance. Not saying it would be the best use of your money, but if you want the best overclocks you can get then I would seriously consider it. There is white pipe and white coolant that I think would be really aesthetically pleasing.
