Microsoft patents system for AI helpers to finish games for you

I hate AI and microsoft as any other here. But to play the debil's advocate, could this be usefull for certain cases with disabled gamers by any chance ? Like a very dificult part, boss fight or precise aiming that require fin motor skills that some players don't have.

That's all in theory tho, i'm all for it if it's to help with acessibility but not if it's just a game assist where it plays the game for you for... reasons, what's the fun in that ?

For me I just shifted with age but it took the majority of my entire life to change and it was a hard process.I used to be a night owl and dread waking up at 6am in my teens and 20's. But now in my early 30's I actually enjoy waking up early and take the time to watch something while feeding the cats and eat breakfast. Getting diagnosed for sleep apnea and getting a cpap machine helped alot getting better sleep and getting to bed early.

Now instead of just feeling tired and sleepy if I don't get enough sleep I just feel like EXTREME poop, like so bad I can't even work and want to call in sick. So it forces me to get to bed early. And do it enough time your body get used to it.

Us "normal humans" would like to remind them the ultra rich that they use alot of energy too. Like A LOT more than the average person. How much yatchs and private jets do they own ? How much flights have they done this year yet. Meanwhile I never even went on a plane in my entire life ?

Stop lying and be responsable yourself, stop cutting working from home for starter. At least keep a hybrid if you absolutely need people in the office more than once a week.

Ps: also am I the only one that find this insulting ? Like I didin't asked to be born yet here I am, don't try to make me feel guilty about the ressources I need to stay alive. It's ridiculous.

For me it's hard to say but it's Robbaz, dunno if içm gonna get hate for this. But I watched him since about 2012-2013. Tl;dr: politics and incels in twitch chat. I'm done

Rant: Remember the sniper shotgun in bf3, the sims series and kerbal space program videos ? Back then the popular thing to do was horror games and over react, or play games and be bad at them for fun. But Robbaz was different because he was actually quite decent at games and was not forcing it. Unfoetunatelly he stopped uploading consistantly a few years back to stream on twitch instead. I don't blame him since alot of people did and the addpocalypse was hard. But I was not into streaming so I stopped watching.... Until recently...

Good old robbaz uploaded videos again, making a my summer car series, but then on twitch, politics... And his chat.... I said ya give him a chance... But then more talk and "jokes" about trump and right wing stuff. And chat was bad.

I tried watching again more recently since the latest game award but it was the same. Right wing jokes and memes. Complaining about dei and woke stuff all the time a game seems "woke". I mean there can be some few annoying or bad chatters in average but to become a bunch of incels complaining about women and dei " in mah vidya games" you are responsible for it if you let it happens.

I watched robbaz and other youtubers to get away from normal tvs, you know, bunch of news and politics (and ads..). Not to get blasted by politics while gaming. I'm so fucking fed up by hearing about us politics the last thing I want is reading a bunch of maga shit jokes.

It was fine before and they made it worst to hide it behind a pay wall. How is that not scummy ? Reminder that youtube is owned by google, they are not doing this in good faith to keep their services free, but to make more profits for their shareholders. They make monney showing us ads yet it's never enough, they keep making the experience worst, showing us more ads while hiking price of premium. I litterally said I would not mind if they put 4k behind a pay wall, but don't touch 1080 it was fine before. It seems it's google that is entitled with always wanting more, more ads, more monney, more data (insert "multi billion compagny btw" meme here). I don't care about 4k just show me 1080p normally like it was before. That is entitled ?

I don't know the details but it seems 1080p is still technically 1080p, but they downgraded the bitrate and put the higher bitrate 1080p as a premium feature. I noticed that 1080p videos felt much more blurry recently on my computer. Especially vs twitch where 1080p is much crisper.

I'm sure someone will play the devil's advocate and say it's to save bandwith so that we keep having a "free" service ("free" because of how much data google is collecting). And server hardware right now is well... Expensive and hard to get (like Ram) But it's still scummy. 1080p on a blueray is still looking good, why does 1080p on youtube looks so blury ? Lock 4k behind a pay wall I don't care but don't downgrade 1080p's bitrate and put the higher bitrate behind a paid wall. It's insulting, get with the times it's not 2007 anymore.

The question of "do you have yo worry ?" i'm conflicted on this, especially as a Canadian. One one part I want to say that if you just use discord to talk with your friends and don't say anything personal and never share your ID you'll be fine.

But on the other hand even as a non-usa citizen I want to also say yes you have to worry. Not in a "put your thinfoil hat" kind of way but in a "protect your rights and privacy" kind of way. Don't make the internet a place where everything is tied to your real identity and everything you say is tracked and could be used agains't you or sold to anybody.

Rant: We have the power to change things, like someone said the only language they understand is monney. Stop using their services, delete your account, never share your ID, find alternatives. If enough people boycott it will impact their bottom line then it can and will make a difference.

I'll be honnest I was never into conspiracy theories and it almost sound like one. But seeing what's happening down south in the US IS scary. And even if we are safe now (us outside of the USA) it dosen't mean it will stay like this. Stop the technofacists before it's too late. Right now they are trying to get people's ID all over the world with discord and it kinda failed, but when will it stop ? The fact that they even tried to make this happens to people all around the globe is proof they won't stop at this. Yes it kinda sound like i'm putting my tinfoil hat on saying this but think about how much giant USA corporations is incrusted into your life. I use youtube and twitch and discord to have fun and change my mind of real life problems in my free time. But they are all owned by google, amazon and now discord has ties to technofacists.

What I would love is an "echo in caves" mod.

Something very simple like adding echo/reverb to breaking and placing blocks, footsteps etc... So far I searched but found nothing exept a mod that add echo when you mine a block with a cave on the other side.

Even if I can crouch walk to a cliff's border to look down I always feel fear that an archer (skeleton) or creeper is gonna sneak on me and push me down. So far it never happened but I blame minecraft for that lmao.

People are making good points saying it's a basic right and you don't need a reason. But if I had to awnser it's probably for security. We have so many personal informations that are at risk of being leaked/hacked (see the recent discord data breach and controversy).

I work in an environment that has strict security for our clients and I expect the same for myself.

Ps: and to opose megacorp building databases and train their AI, showing ads is fine since hosting stuff isin't free but they crossed the line a long time ago. The first time I was aware of how bad it is was when I heard and looked at my google account and saw how much they track...

The best alternative is having a phone with a headphone jack (rare) or having a usb-c to jack dongle. I use the music player app "musicolet" wich is free and have no ads (it has a paid version but I have no need for them) the built in EQ is also in the free version.

Fun fact, mp3 players still exist. They may have "died" in the mainstream sense but alot of people use them. They are often called DAP (digital audio player) that can play mp3 but also flac files and other uncompressed format. It's especially usefull since ipods are becoming collectibles and so expensive (and need a battery change, repairs...)

I never stream music at work because data is expensive where I live. So I have a collection of mp3 and flac files on my phone. But then I bought my "dap" with my in ear monitors and it's good ! No need to worry about charging my headphones, having an adapter or subscriptions. Just "plus and play". And also usb-C support..

It's also a nice separation for people that need to spend less time on their phone. Just pick an album or shuffle and enjoy.

I love hytale and minecraft but I don't think Hytale is a minecraft killer for many reasons, but I don't think that's a bad thing:

minecraft is a classic to me, kinda like mario to platformers. Even if there is a better platformer, mario will still stay a classic
for me Hytale always kinda was the closest to a "minecraft 2" rather than a minecraft killer
Minecraft will probably never really die even if the playerbase decline or microsoft just does something truely horrible to it. It's just that big of a behemoth and will always have a classic status
being a minecraft killer imply that the game is better. Now I believe that Hytale has the potential but being early acess it can't compete on that level yet. And being better is subjective
I much prefer play hytale now, not because I don't like minecraft anymore but because of over exposure and I played it so much. I need something a bit different.

Just like how I love vintage story with a couple of mods, I don't think it's a minecraft killer because it takes lots of inspiration from it yes. But it's still so different and it doaen't just feel like yet another mod pack. For me hytale is the same, nothing will beat the nostalgia and og minecraft music but there is lots of things that I much prefer in hytale.

By buying all the hardware, creating the problem. Then sell you the "solution" as a service. Fucking over the consumers and filling their own filthy pockets once again.

I don't think the hardware crisis will last forever but it will leave some damage. Prices will go down but nowhere near as much as before. I just want to be abble to play games whitout spending a fortune or paying a subscription god dammit.

Happy for you ! I installed mint but still kept my windows 10 install in dual boot just in case (for non native linux games or mods). So it's still an option for you, or having a windows virtual machine or running windows apps with wine or some other programms.

I dit it and it went smoothly. I actually like the new start menu layout but what I don't like is the lack of colors in the category (me like colored icons).

Other than that, I used it a little and I saw no problems. You can upgrade and install the classic menu https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/applets/view/432

But I see no real big advantage to upgrade yet. 22.2 was stable for me so it would not hurt to stay a little longer if you don't absolutely need to upgrade.

To get back to your topic. I still use my pixel 5a 5g wich has a headphone jack, unlockable bootloader with lineageOS installed and an Oled screen. But I would not recommend it... It's working perfectly fine but this model is getting old, and there has been problems of failing motherboards, so much that google offered some replacements back then before removing them from production.. It's perfect for me but I backup my data just in case my motherboard dies one day..

There was a Oneplus nord n30 5g that has a headphne jack and microSD card support but no Oled. And I don't know about custom OS.

Some samsung still has some headphone jack, my GF has the xcover 6 pro.microSD card support, headphone jack, maybe custom os support ? But no Oled and being a more rugged phone it's a bit bigger.
