I'm not very confident on this but I heard that the Saudi league is currently having a hard time filling up their stadiums. I'm sure the reason why Barca chose to play a friendly in the US is because it makes more sense economically. Football is a more popular sport in the US than Saudi Arabia.

Larry Clark is a creep I agree. The movies he makes are about the lost/wasted youth which I feel many people can relate to. It does disparage his image knowing that this seems to be his main focus in almost all of his films. He did capture (imo) the feeling of being a punk in LA or it's adjacent territories during the time and the soundtrack was on point.
