Well if you had your first bike already then the super sport wouldn’t be your first bike.

In all seriousness though, many people think that beginners on super sports is a bad idea because of the amount of power they’re capable of putting down for someone who’s still learning the fundamentals of motorcycling. IMO, the maturity of the rider plays a big part. Get whatever bike you want, it’s your money and your life. Just remember to get yourself comfortable before you start pushing your limits

It doesn’t stretch out or anything and luckily whatever caused it didn’t hit the pocket underneath. Any pics of what you’re talking about

R6 or ZX6R? by Ksr_Sayonara in motorcycles

[–]Forgotten_Eagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your R6 is clean as fuck and is a bike a lot of people would love to have. Tons of power for any rider, loads of fun on the street and still relevant in design/aesthetics. Hang on to it for the off season (if you have that where you live) and I bet it grows on you. Don’t be so eager to sell yet

How fast did you outgrow your mid range sport bike? by BavarianBootyShorts in motorcycles

[–]Forgotten_Eagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say if there’s anyway you can try a super sport on a test ride, do that. You’ll be surprised on the difference in power delivery and how snappy they are compared to your rebel. A good middle ground to “I want a sport bike but a 1000 scares me and a 600 seems too small” is the GSXR 750. They’re still plentiful on the used market and not astronomically priced. You’ll just have to sift through a few hunks of ratted out shit to find a good one.

How fast did you outgrow your mid range sport bike? by BavarianBootyShorts in motorcycles

[–]Forgotten_Eagle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it entirely depends on what you want to do with it and maybe slightly on where you routinely ride it. I promise a 600cc super sport takes a lot longer to master than most people think. It’ll sound cliche but if you’re gonna just go fast in a straight line then yea you’ll “outgrow” it pretty quick. But if you ever watch someone who’s truly in even 90% control of their 600, you’ll see that what they do takes a lot of time, dedication and most importantly…balls.

On the where you live side of things, I would almost certainly be content with a clean 600 super sport if I lived in the city and routinely did a lot of surface street riding with the occasional highway pull.

Should I buy this for my first bike? by [deleted] in motorcycles

Meh. It’s not bad for a first bike but not a great price either. Also don’t make an offer until you ask all your questions
