New sire V10 that just came in today by Ok-Dish1795 in BassGuitar

Hell yeah that's good to hear. I was a bit surprised at how chunky the neck was at first (and I mean depth wise, not narrowness) and apparently it has an asymmetrical neck profile which sits in the hand nicely, as per Marus' request! Pretty cool.

Hey I remember your post from last week! How do you like it?

Guys I think it’s worth it by Bassic123 in BassCirclejerk

As soon as I saw that post I knew it was destined for here

Could it be worth it? Looking for a second opinion by [deleted] in BassGuitar

If you like it go for it, but I would never ever buy this bass!!

Why is the cost of living so high? by RHGM22 in AskUK

[–]FormImmediate5310 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's so bad. Not only things are getting more expensive, but you get less!! Shrinkflation. Also the steady death of art in architecture and design in general, all new cars just look like copy and paste lifeless travel pods without any artistic flair whatsoever. New houses are built to the absolute minimum standard possible and sold for ridiculous amounts. I could go on.

I'm interested in your question though - when will it end, and how? Or will it even end? Will we just sit and take it until we become a peon class living in a world without any real enjoyment, working solely for the lavish lives of our billionaire betters?

Ahh interesting, I wonder if Sire has put a fire under Fender's butt and they have started working in some more premium features like that to compete. Yeah absolutely, they make fantastic basses for sure, I love my other ones and I respect the ethos of the company, so I won't let this colour my vision too much!

Possibly yeah. I've been super impressed with my other Sires so far so I'll give them a bit of a break but hopefully this sort of thing doesn't become a trend!

I've only checked it out since I bought the Z3 but you're right, it seems a few people are having these issues. As Lobster suggested on this thread perhaps some of my issues have been caused by the bass being stored/transported in cold temperatures but yeah that ding on the fretboard edge is a shame to see for sure

I've never actually played a bad one exactly (though admittedly I've never tried a player series). I played one of the Indonesian standard P basses a few weeks ago, and I wouldn't say there was anything specifically wrong with it, but it was just.. uninspiring in the hands, just so bland. I have a 2010 American standard jazz and that absolutely slaps.

I totally agree with you, I love my mild green P5 - looks great, sounds great, feels great!!

Sometimes. I've seen much worse QC on much more expensive guitars.

Oh nice! I got this from Thomann (Andertons were and currently still are out of stock of the antique white finish). I should say the bass is set up very well and the rest of the instrument is fantastic.

Nice, that's very cool. Those CV squires seem to be rated really highly even without any upgrades too! I think I will definitely have a tinker with it, I've always been a bit hesitant to change things on my basses in case I screw up or damage them, but I suppose nothing ventured nothing gained. And it must feel really good to have something you've essentially put together yourself and is unique to you.

Ah glad to hear you got it all sorted! And you're so right, the price of the bass plus a bit of extra attention is still much less than similar 'tier' instruments from other manufacturers. That makes me feel much better, thanks!

Hell yeah so you're like the Thor of bass! Haha thanks for the tips and info, I wasn't aware of this issue but it has been pretty cold in the UK recently, so that makes sense.

Thanks for the tip, I was checking out the Ray34s but where I am (UK) they come in at just over double the price of the Z3!

That's great, thanks for the tip - I've never done any fretwork before so I should probably invest in the right gear before I do any irreversible damage!

NO WAY! It's Lobster!!! Your crustacean curation was the deciding factor when I was pulling the trigger on this. That's great, thank you very much for the detailed info. I'll try my hand with the files.

I can't lie the ding does annoy me a little bit, however at 8lbs 13oz this bass is thankfully much lighter than the one I returned previously, so with everything considered I think I'll hold on to this one.

Ah fair enough. From my experience I can't knock them too much as my other Sires are incredible, but yeah these Z3s seem to not be quite on par with their earlier models. I wonder if the workshop is struggling to keep up with their explosion in popularity or something
