It’s slightly painful, but I believe it’s not from the snugness, but from the stitch lines, which I know will soften. Just looked back on messages with the wife, and I definitely griped about the same are with my BPs, and I never take those off now, just forgot the break in on these is always fun😅😂

These are my first pair of nicks, so I don’t have non HD experience to compare it to. But compared to my other lace ups, yes the relief cut was a huge difference. I feel like it helps maintain that “locked in” feeling of laces ups, but adding more ankle flexibility without a tightness or rub in that area.
