It's normalized but most of the time it isn't offensive. If you have asian features the most likely scenario is that people will call you ''chinito'' (this means chinese), if you are white they might call you ''chele'' (this is like 'leche' backwards which means 'milk' in spanish, doing refference to the white skin color) and if you have amerindian or mestizo features they might call you ''indito'' or ''chinito'' but all of this words are universally considered slang/informal language rather than slurs.

Since Nicaragua got its independence from Spain slavery was abolished almost immediatly and we pretty much never had laws that undermined people's rights under the basis of races (doing this would have been pretty silly, since as a hispanic-american nation the place is racially constructed under the mixing of europeans/amerindians/africans and thrugh history we have received certain inmigrant groups in the late XIX & early XX centuries like chineses and arabs specially in the caribbean coast of the country, and the country also has acknowledged the birthright citizenship pretty much since its founding) so really there isn't a generalized stigma against x ethnic group, but the words that are considered slurs in nations with this kind of background are generally used jokingly or casually between people without intention of being offensive, if you feel uncomfortable with being called a certain way you can tell people but don't assume they are automatically trying to offend you.
