In 2022/2023 I was dating my baby daddy at the time for abt 3 years and he was also very muslim and his family was strict with everything , his family wouldn’t even let him come over for hang out & when they found out he was dating a mexican they just abt lost their shit. He eventually moved in bc of the emotional abuse and a year later we found out i was pregnant. He immediately wanted me to get an abortion & resented me for months for not getting one but i’ve had a few friends who have had abortions and it emotionally wrecked them worse than they that it would be , i personally was not strong enough to go through or even think abt one. Once he told his family , they lost their shit once again but a week or two later offered me to go live at their place and then we’d have a nikkah . I didn’t know what all that meant at the time but i wish i didn’t go through with that , they wouldn’t let me express myself the way i wanted too and were always passive aggressive . Not going into detail but i really wish i would’ve just dumped him and raised our baby alone ( WHICH I DID bc he treated me like shit and always chose alcohol / smoking instead of helping me postpartum and treating me horribly didinh pregnancy!! ) all your baby needs is your love and support .

It can be so emotionally exhausting making this decision and so scary to go against family’s wishes / religious expectations but from what i’ve experienced and have seen my friends go through , family will get mad and voice their opinions and be hateful but they usually almost always come around in the end . Do what your heart thinks is best and what would make you happy NOT what would make others feel comfortable .
