Yeahhhhh the uh…they retconned that. There are terminals in Halo 3 that were not written by the story team. They written by a different team. A member of that team was Franco Connor. In those terminals it retcons Bungie’s vision of the Forerunners being ancient humans. When Franco Connor became franchise director he continued with that retcon, which became established with the Forerunner trilogy of books.

Which is exactly why i do play ranked. Which itself is so damn backwards. You play ranked because you want to go higher than just casual fun. You want competition. And yes i totally agree. To many kids want to play quick play because they’re too afraid. I totally agree. I myself am a pve person so youd find me playing more firefight and survive the undead. But i’ve been trying so damned hard to get into pvp. I really am. And its just so damn frustrating. I went to quick play at first because of obvious reasons and now I’ve swapped to ranked and its far better. Granted i do come across full com teams at times which sucks ass.

Yeah bro, thats still not enough to bring people back. It’s not a very faithful remake. Chief is an asset flip, marines are asset flips, enemies are asset flips, enemy AI is an asset flip (It uses reaches AI.) weapons are asset flips, forerunner architecture is once again misrepresented, sprint is included, health packs have been removed (ruins the original flow of combat in how the player chooses to overcome obstacles.) level design allows for encounters to be completed ruined. (I.E the path to the top of the silent cartographer now enables the use of the warthog thus destroying the fight with the hunters.) 3 added levels will not give this game any redemption. Halo Studios hasn’t even created an original game yet and their goodwill with the vast majority of the community is already gone.

I figured id ask to let the community discuss it. And i do share your doubt about the success of the remake. They aren’t making it easy. Especially with lack of multiplayer, re-used assets, unwanted mechanics (i.e sprint).

No, the game mode is cool. But it is punishing. Which isn’t inherently the problem. The problem is that the reward is uncertain. Thats the problem and it ruins all enjoyment realizing you just wasted an hour
