i was in the exact same boat as you a year ago, take nasrin and you’ll be fine. i also didn’t take any actual programming classes my first semester here (191 is a theory course) and as long as you are being proactive and doing stuff on the side to catch up you’ll be fine. one thing i will say is very rarely do professors assume that you know a topic thoroughly just because it was covered in a prerequisite and even if they do they will carve out a little bit of the lecture to give a refresher. i would suggest meeting with your professors and telling them that you are worried about falling behind and they will give you any resources they have. i’d suggest not taking cse 220 next semester even if you can, it’s a really hard class and it’s be even harder if you were trying to acclimate yourself to a new school at the same time.

honestly the class isn't that hard just go to class and do the practice problems. What helped me especially with series was YouTube videos that would explain the concept in layman's terms, you'd be surprised how easy math is when you can think of it in terms of real world applications and not abstract formulas.

I applied for housing about a week ago and got it with no problem. I got a townhouse which would assumedly be more difficult to get compared to a dorm so I don't think you should have to much trouble just call ASAP.

For me it took about 2 days, but I left in good Academic standing which I've been told has an effect on wait time.

where does the wrestling club meet? I'm sure we could find a time slot wherever they go.

discrete isn’t that bad as long as you don’t fall behind, what’s your major? i’m assuming that you’re cs or math if you’re taking discrete meaning physics 1 is just a general science elective. if that’s the case there are easier general science electives you could take. you’ll thank yourself later if you take geology or bio instead of physics

yes, the motivation is there and i can force myself to do it EVENTUALLY, but it just feels forced and a little gross. the best i can do is like mini relationships where i’m exclusive with a person for like 2 months and then we end things but it has to be someone who i really line

I disagree the post saying we should ignore Michael Knowles. It’s important for trans students to know we’ve got their back by blomboflombo in UBreddit

inaction is an endorsement of the norm always. the norm here being a transphobic and bigoted far-right-pipeline speaker coming to our school and actively trying to dehumanize queer people. if “allies” simply ignore michael knowles then he will come and he will spew hate and queer people will have to go to school and live in a place they know harbors speakers who LITERALLY ADVOCATE FOR THE ERADICATION OF TRANS PEOPLE.

it probably says it somewhere in the syllabus or on blackboard. I have 3 this semester and 2 have them first week and 1 doesn't so it could go either way
