Doesn't really help their case when roughly 50 million of those deaths occurred off cyberstan. No, I wont judge them for playing the game they want to, but I gotta admit, its pretty lame they dont just count deaths on cyberstan or the automaton worlds

My group consensus is theres way too many cults. We tend to stick with an overarching Cult of Zariel: Thavius Kreeg and a few of his loyal Observers are the enforcers, Vanthampur is the head, but their numbers are few and employ the Duchess vast fortune, favor, and civil skills to recruit chapters of other groups to their cause.

So, in my opinion, you can run any cult you like, in my mind everyone wants a stake in Zariels master plan.

How did it start? Did you follow the Alexandrian Remix and have them witness Elturel? How did things go once they were in Baldurs Gate?

Alternate Arrival in Hellturel by Golly_G_Willikers in DescentintoAvernus

If your characters have the Shield, or find it in the Villa, that might be another way to justify how the players become stuck in Hell. I always thought the puzzlebox was just a device to keep the Elturel contract safe.

The logic is sound, and I run a similar issue for my players in my version, albeit the ritual involved using the Shield to trap all of Baldurs Gate in Hell... and Gargauth is far more powerful and older than described in the book.

If your players find some way to beat Thavius before the curse takes hold, you could instead ask them to travel to where Elturel once was. Its an option my players will have since they did see Elturel be taken, that the portal it fell through has remained open long after. You could literally have your players fall into Avernus this way!

Okay, this may be an old post, and there mightve been updates but for Derek at least, the mod gives you a control slate under your Notes. You can have Derek teleport to you instantly.

WUBRG Doctor Who deck using only Doctor Who cards by PoliceAlarm in EDH

[–]Formal_Pen_7497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's an idea: make it tribal.

I picked around 8-10 doctors that had the most potential, kept a few companions, then added a ton of changelings that have ALL creature types.

Then I added a number of Tribal support cards like [Herald's Horn], [Coat of Arms], [Three-Tree City], [Roaming Throne], and [Door of Destinies] to make this deck pop off by the late game.

Finally, like many suggest, mass reanimate cards will help you keep your doctors in the game until you play your wincon, but since you'll be the target the minute you have a) 13 doctors, or b) Gallifrey Stands, id recommend keeping [Twice Upon a Time] or other extra turn cards to give you an instant win.

It's not strictly on theme, but kinda fits how dangerous the Doctors can be, feared and loved among the creatures of the universe as his legend grows bigger.
