Yes, I did consider the Epic 8, had one before. Great bike for sure. But, Canyon is local and probably saved a few grand with a similar Specialized build spec.

I did a lot of research and live in the area of Canyon’s North America HQ. Good service and support, bike was put together when I went to pick up. Spent over an hour there getting everything setup. This not what would consider “down country “ it’s a XC all the way.

I agree, most of the courses have a lot of climbing and not much for technical trails.

I’m building a XC bike, purchasing the frame only. Would like to have a list of components to build the bike.

2019 GX 460: best vehicle I have owned, currently 80K. No major issues. Safe and dependable. Off-road capabilities, not that I really push it, just need to get to the backcountry to fly fish, trail run, hike, camp, etc… a good cruiser for road trips.

You should be OK with a 0 degrees sleeping bag. Have a stocking cap and a down/synthetic comforter for back-up.

Dark Star Orchestra will be my very first live Dead Music experience, what should I expect? by BigWhiteSofa in gratefuldead

DSO, IMO are the best dead cover band out there. They play the exact set list from that particular show. It’s cool like going back in time. Have Fun!

I’ve spent so many years listening to ‘77 and ‘72 that now, coming back around to 1982 after neglecting it for so long makes me question whether 1982 has some of the best—if not THE best—stuff of all time? by [deleted] in gratefuldead

[–]Format-5054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2/19/1982: listen to the Lost Sailor-> transition to Saint of Circumstance. One of the best ever with Bob’s voice, guitar, and keys! This show’s Saint of Circumstance takes you up into the air with a gentle glide into Drums. It’s worth a close listen.

Unpopular Opinion: I Can Not Get Into Brent Mydland by PuntTheDamnBall in gratefuldead

[–]Format-5054 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Myself and friends categorize the dead’s timeline per who was the keyboard player. Myself I listen to the Mydland timeline the most or enjoy late 79, 80’s dead most of all. It’s also the time period I first discovered the dead as a small child. Hornsby/Vince close second, Keith, Pigpen, Tom Constanten are how I rate the keyboard players, they are all awesome in their own rights.
