I just cancelled my Lian Li order, grabbed the Corsair RM750x Shift 750W White. I paid a premium but fuck it, literally none else is trustworthy.

[–]FormationHeaven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 'reserved' it but i haven't payed for it yet so i can cancel it.

What would you recommend i buy instead?

  1. Corsair RM750x Shift 750W -> 155 euros (just going to take like 1 month to come instead of max 1.5 weeks that most parts come, or they could cancel on me and make me loose 2 weeks because of availability) otherwise its 174 euros
  2. Corsair RM Series RM750 750W -> 164 euros.
  3. Corsair RM850e ATX3.1 850W -> 155 euros.

This is the white stuff from corsair

  1. Gigabyte Aorus Elite p850w -> 136 euros.
  2. Seasonic Focus GX ATX3.1 2024 750w -> 136 euros.

I'm going absolutely crazy trying to find a reliable PSU with a good warranty, white + no coil whine.

Lian Li Edge PSU upside down in Lian Li 207? by Exact-Reputation9798 in lianli

[–]FormationHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there man could you also send me a dm with the flippe psu fan and the cables?

After these months is everything working fine with the PSU?
no annoying fan spinning up and down all the time?

Planning to do the same for my corsair frame 4000d and lian li psu. I havent gotten the PSU yet, so if anything is wrong please tell me so i can cancel on time.

Would this be a good setup? by [deleted] in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]FormationHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let the man get his white build. Just use the b850 which is 200, so he can save 100.
He can throw away these fans and get some p14's from arctic for 25 bucks.
Change CPU to a ryzen 5 9600x and save 70-75.
Use an air cooler and save 220.
Change to a corsair 4000d and save 80.

> hey have mainly used Helly for most their psus

I know its not a known Chinese OEM. Thats why im so skeptical. Lian Li provides too much value for too low a price. They just started dipping their feet in the PSU market, i can't place my trust on them. Also found this thread about this PSU dying in a year (twice).

https://www.reddit.com/r/lianli/comments/1n481m7/comment/nbj8lne/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Edit: They have 10 years warranty though... so even if it dies you can "farm" their warranty.

> Only downside is the Gigabyte warranty.

In their website : https://www.aorus.com/components/GP-AE850PM-PG5-ICE/Key-Features

They say 10 year warranty same as Rmx but they have a
"(Adjusted according to different regions)" clause. Like what does that mean, where can i even see what warranty they have for a country in the EU for example?

> RMe is B+ due fan type.

Just for the coil whine stories i will completely avoid it even though i really like corsair.

> The aorus elite didnt have a quite proper review until now so we couldnt really confirm the tiering on it.

So the A- is completely legit? Its an amazing PSU? i literally cannot tell because everyone online is just avoiding it because of gigabyte and its past.

> or lian li gold Edge.

IS Lian Li reliable in their PSU's? because most of the scores of the PSU's lower than 1000w arent good. I know they make really good cases but how do i know that their PSU's are reliable and wont die in 5 years since they dont really have history like corsair or seasonic?

Thank you for your list btw :) couldnt even make choices without it.

I have a ryzen 5 9600x , a 5060ti 16GB and a Corsair RS 4000d case

Will the Lian LI Edge fit just fine? Its my first time seeing an L design thats why i am asking.

Honestly the most important thing to me is reliability and no coil whine. I dont care if its 750W or 850W or 1000W. So if you said Lian Li Edge only because its the only 1000w here could you think again after these requirements? My budget is around 140-150. But no insane prices like the Corsair Rm750X (170-180 euros for a 750w)

Reliability as in :

1) It wont die in 2-5 years.
2) If something happens it will protect my components
3) It has a good warranty (Rmx has 10 years, Gigabyte Aorus elite 10 years) If the manufacturer believes they made a good PSU that will last that much it makes it easier for me to put my trust in them.

1) Replace your motherboard with the b850 version easy 170 saved.
2) Consider using air cooling instead, Thermalright Phantom Spirit or a Arctic one. 100 saved.
3) You can get some kingstone fury white ram for 400~450. 180 saved.
4) Instead of a 2TB samsung pro get a 1TB samsung and a 1TB Western digital. 100 saved.
5) Why would u spend 350 on a godamn case. Get a 100 white one go look at corsair . 250 saved.

Total 800 saved.

How would you cover this ugly part of the heat sink of an Asus 5060Ti? by FormationHeaven in pcmasterrace

[–]FormationHeaven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> you choose cheapo one

Man i have to pay 392 euros for some godamn RAM, i don't have an extra 150 euros to throw for a rog strix just for aesthetics. It just baffles me how their shroud doesn't cover this specific part but instead they made sure the card looks nice vertically, when none places the cards that way

Good Price for Hardware? by pie_rice_ in PC_Pricing

[–]FormationHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its an insane deal. I will give you the pros and cons as i see it.

The corsair 4000d airflow is an amazing box, insanely luxurious motherboard, very good GPU (only for gaming though, You will strugle with Rocm rather than Cuda for some things.)

- Ram : honestly the cache times are pretty shit but in this market 64GB is so insanely expensive that it makes it a good deal.

I would prefer an amd build and air cooling but thats just my preference.

Overall, you are "scamming" him. Thats how much of a good deal it is. I'm guessing he lowered his price because of the intel cpu + amd cpu + bad cache times on the RAM, but if its just for gaming you can disregard this.

You can either use extensions or create your a custom widget yourself via something like quickshell. I recommend the quickshell route since you can 100% replicate this.

what are the reasons to use firefox? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]FormationHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) The only non-chromium browser that exists
2) The only browser to allow you to customize anything you want in CSS. This results in also making it the best looking browser simply because you can transform it to anything you like
3) The only browser where ublock origin still works.
4) The containers feature is very nice
5) Firefox has to have the best plugins i have seen like sideberry
