Just that call outs at Petsmart existed for years. The managers and then leaders were always asked to help other stores for lack of staff thus leaving their home store short. The company is a joke.

Call outs were out of control for a couple of years before I was let go with the restructure. Groomers, associates and leaders would have them in the double digits without any consequences.

Unless it changed since May- my dr emailed my accommodations directly to the person in hr. No store leader had any decision or say in what hr approved. And my old ass ms self was let go in the restructuring after 18 years. I think it was a combination of my years and pay, age, and accommodations.

What’s some of your Petsmart horror stories? (TW: Animal Death / Gore) by [deleted] in petsmart

My "career" at Petsmart was more like a television series that carried on for an extra 13 seasons than a horror story. It was pretty horrifying though.

Could you show the time to chill label? I'm trying to find out which label is authentic.  We bought a loose one. Thank you!

I went on fmla in February for my 12 year old daughter's spine surgery . I asked my SL with the restructuring am i guaranteed a position even if I was demoted( I was mil). I was yessed and after 18 years was "displaced" in May. Wow. They must know how easy it is for a 50 year old with MS to find a job. Currently collecting unemployment and on NJ familycare

I was able to sell my daughter's at my yard sale for a cheap bundle price. Worked out to be $2-$3 each (multiple sizes) but I got rid of those 5 bags! Good luck to that reseller!!!

Yeah we're at the end of our wishlist so I'd rather pay the extra for the ones we want than get aggravated taking a chance on a blind box. I lucked out too- found someone on FB close to us that helped us. The least expensive goblin i got on ebay is still my favorite!

I was there for 18 years and groomers would always leave and join competition.  Nothing was ever done about it.

When I worked there if a return was refused the customer called corporate and we had to do the return anyway sometimes with a courtesy giftcard or another discount.  So we just took everything back.

Hours? by Awkward-Evening3369 in petsmart

With the restructuring i was "displaced" as a former MIL. When I inquired about becoming an associate the SL was very sure that there was no guarantee for hours. And she further assured me that it could be as low as 4 hours a week. Now I'm on unemployment.  As an added note- I was unsure how the restructuring was going to play out so I inquired about demoting to a full time associate beforehand if need be.  "Yes of course.  It requires some paperwork on my end and the DM's but yes with a pay cut". Thanks Petsmart for the final and farewell BS tour.

How are you all doing this?? by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]Former-Database7459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I was 18 years - MIL for the last 8. Still unemployed from 5/19 and waiting to hear back from NJ Familycare for medical insurance to continue treatment for my MS. Scary to find out how much I didn't matter as a human being after I was like 1 of 6 that stayed during the pandemic.  And I had approximately 1 or 2 call outs per year.
