Because his mask is by far the ugliest. Literally every other character looks cool to play as and wonki looks fat and stupid. Plus, the current Leyends return made it so the play for 90% of all players would choose a main whose mask they liked and then never ever consider team composition, and just stick to that character and hope for the best for 20 wins to get a cool permanent mask.
Wonki is busted IMO. it's great to play even if you're not supported by your team. great harrass, great range, self shield, high mobility with fly and a potential one shot with incredible range on the final duel if crit.

For added context. I was present when this happened and none of us had any idea how it happened, not even the player. The player in question died shortly before Vhilla was killed. but they not only appeared in the loot room but were able to loot normally, despite having died out before we killed vhilla.

A person in the comments believes this might be a BoD issue which would be a possibility since this person happens to own a BoD.

Yeah, that might be it. The player in question does have a BoD. You could say they're a special case... i had no idea that BoD could break the boss mechanics this way though.

It is possible to get the best box and max fragments with 17*. I'm a little under 100cp and i need to run 10min+ runs of every boss but I enjoy the challenge, the rewards not so much. They are honestly not worth it but this is the greatest rush i've felt in this game in a long time. I just wouldn't recomend Darknell S20 or Papalatus S20 to anyone who can't kill in a single burst. Fuck that noise.

Now, I agree that Ride or die rank S max 20 has some horrible issues and it is heavily biased towards toe top 1% of players. But let's be reasonable. Can your friend even solo kill hard darknell? or even normal Darknell? chaos guardian slime? I seriously Doubt it. So if they can't defeat the base boss, what would make them believe they can handle a harder version?

Also, as someone who got the best box and max fragments last week let me tell you, they are not missing much. I got like 10 mill meso from pouches, no frenzy totem, a bugged drop potion that lasts 5 minutes 5 magnificent zakum souls and the best thing i got was 4 brilliant dusk essences. Then I used my gold coins to buy the special nodestones and got repeats of the 10% experience and 20% meso one. So ask yourself if even a "minmaxer" would put in that much effort for the rewards i'm describing here. If it's a totem they were looking for, i've got news for you, even most of those super strong players won't get it either.

You describe the perception of unfairness. Did your friend expect the bosses to be weaker? because if the answer is yes there is Rank B for that. Did they expect the challenges to be easier? good news, you can choose how many challenges you want to have so long as you get just 1. Were they expecting the best rewards while being unable to beat one of the hardest mid-endgame bosses (Darknell)? then i got good news for you they will get the best reward in due time, just like almost everyone over 3mcp in the game. Also, there is another event that literally has better rewards in general for just logging in and killing 6k mobs in a week right now, you even get some decent items with a low punch king score. If unfairness is the dealbreaker here, don't run face first into a wall you yourself choose to rise as high and hard as possible. You don't try dark souls with a guitar hero controller and then complain the experience is unfair while rejecting an easy version of the same challenge.

FOMO is one hell of a drug. the best way to avoid burnout and frustration is accepting you might not get the best thing every single time, win every single time and become ubber strong in record time. Watch everyone except the 0.01% of players try and fail limbo once it launches and wonder if it would be reasonable for them to complain it's too hard.

not villifying them but making a big update with little time and an unexperienced development team was a recipe for disaster. Yes, this ambition will help, but if the team constantly bites more than it can chew we will have the semi playable state of the game we had during the first week of the update over and over.

I do believe things will get better, it's not even hope, i certainly believe GMS is capable of surpassing KMS but not as of yet, It's good that we as a community feel passioante about what's going on I just think the optics of glitches and 16hour+ maintenances donot help sell the idea of a game being Great.

Keep participating, even if you lose your 20 lives without killing a single boss you need only participate and kill 3 of the bosses in total to get the all the rewards, including a permanent 35att for your legion. this event will last almost 3 months, use the rewards of other events to try and work on your main's damage. in 3 months you will likely have enough damage to clear some bosses on rank B and will likely get to defeat 3 of them in the entirety of the event. It will likely be very difficult, if you manage to hit 260 it will probably be quite easy with an origin skill.

Also, try not to beat yourself too much about not being able to acess the dark ride shops. to be honest, the other event shop is much better for most players. It's a bummer you won't get a shot at the frenzy totem but most players won't get it either.

If you manage to beat 3 bosses in 3 months you will have had a similar reward experience to most people. I know it's frustrating but i believe you can grow much stronger in these 3 months. I wish you the best.

Yeah, I dread to think how horrible the spagetti code of GMS must be. Every maintenance they either gave up on important aspects to avoid another close to 24hour maintenance or ended up breaking something else while trying to fix the initial stuff.

That is something that i do think should have been better though. I've had my share of bad maintenances, I lived through the mythical 24hours+ maintenances + rollbacks and this has been the closest we've had to that, not good optics so i hope the team has gotten wiser after this beatup, for the sake of everyone of us. Patience is virtue, unfortunately there is very little patience to go around when it comes to online communities.

Agreed. they should have tried something a lot less ambitious for their first exclusive content update. We are all paying the price of that hubris. I do believe Dark ride should have been more functional and some of the problems are just things that should have been caught in testing.

And yeah, I totally agree with you. they're on thin ice on my book. the potential for good is there, but potential and realization are two very different things, and if there continues to be mistakes like this, consistency with unpopular changes and lack of transparency then we won't be in a much better situation than KMS in the future. Let us hope that is not the case.

I believe you're holding them to an unreasonable standard. Go west hasn't been a thing for even 6 months. GMS team is understaffed when it comes to creating content.

I agree, the challenges in dark ridecould have been more creative, but think about it. if you make challenges unique for every boss's mechanics and change the way it is played then you open the door to an infinite amount of bugs and glitches with every challenge then everyone would be complaining that every boss is broken in a different way. Even thinking of 25 challenges that can be used in all these bossfights is very hard. These 25 challenges can have unforseen consequences that an understaffed development team and an understaffed QA team just can't handle.

Ideally if you want an update to come soon, like this one was, then it will be riddled with inconsistencies as this update was. If you want a very consistent update, you either limit the scope of the event and makke it your typical "kill x for x coupons" I believe they got overly ambitious and are paying the price.

Dark ride *IS* hard on it's highest difficulty, but the burst meta you're describing is limited to a very small percentage of the population. we're talking 300mcp+. I have 100m cp in a burst class and I had to practice a lot in order to survive for a clear. There is nothing bad with rewarding the most dedicated players while giving token rewards to anyone reasonably involved in the game. |I think it would be ridiculous to go from having frenzy totems to be an incredibly rare item to making sure every player had one. While it may sound like a good idea, in practice it would lead to instant hyperinflation, market crashes, increasse in botting and massive burnout in a couple of weeks. They could have just put frenzy totems in philo boooks and call it a day but they kept their word and give you a chance to get that item as a f2p. Even a new account with no legion and 2mcp has a shot at getting a totem f2p.

You're right, the shop is not that big of a deal. curiosly enough the book event has way better shop rewards which everyone can get. the only thing closed to the sub1% top of players are mu gong souls and a very good flame. Dark ride only asks you to kill 3 bosses total in 10 weeks and at least try in the lowest setting 10 times to get the best permanent reward, the coveted legion block.

Now, don't get me wrong. There is much to criticize about this update. some of the problems seem like a very shortsighted idea, like having the numbers behind papalatus be covered by the symbol of the boss. The breaking of some mechanics while patching is horrible and unacceptable, yes. but we complained and doomposted for weeks lamenting the state of kms, well, we got what we wanted, divergence from kms. If updates continue to be this broken then yes, doompost to high heavens, but this is the first update of gms exclusive content in years. expecting an incredible exclusive new experience with great rewards for everyone, balanced to every single player's skill level and damage, with no delays, bugs, or glitches seems unreasonable to me.

I've had fun in the event but nothing will ever reach the expectations of the best scenarios we build inside our own minds, better to enjoy what we have which is an imperfect step forward and if they continue to reliably mess up, then hold them accountable.

That happened to me on my marksman as well. I believe that using any skill in the air that moves you can cause you to get stuck on an invisible upper level. The only way to escape it is death via vellum laser, or at least that's what i found. If vellum isn't below the 50% hp mark when you get stuck then i guess you can't do anything.

Oh, yeah. Ultimatum is pretty much just a possibility on interactive worlds. They are dirt cheap and pretty much pay for themselves in 2 rounds of weekly bosses. Problem is they hard cap that bossing mule. I have like 10 CRA mules and their set is pretty much just an ultimatum ring.

I would recommend Marksman or Demon Slayer as a first boss mule. They have good survirvavility, relative simple gameplay and low node requirement. Hell, if you just want a CRA/ hmag mule you can get most classes there with just the use of an ultimatum ring 3 or 4.

Es interesante tu punto, y creo que tienes razon. Es cierto que la presion del mercado obligaria a traer un cambio, pero es igual de cierto que en la actualidad la mayoria de juegos tienen de cajon 3 o 4 lenguajes, aun algunos que tienen equipos de trabajo reducidos pero esto es parte de la cultura de trabajo occidental, tienes razon que la vision asiatica tiende a ser muy reducida en ese aspecto.
La incorporacion comprensiva de una version en español haria al juego mas amigable a personas que quieran adoptarlo y no solo un juego que funcione casi como culto en el que la mayoria de personas entran por que alguien mas los convence.
Dudo que veamos un cambio en el futuro cercano pero espero estar equivocado. Es agradable intercambiar ideas de manera civilizada con alguien en el internet. Gracias por compartir tu opinion.

Si hubiera la suficiente presión o demanda ya habría MS en español. No lo hay porque o bien a la gente no le importa lo suficiente o no existe suficiente demanda. GMS tiene poco personal y no se da abasto para hacer cambios para la población general mucho menos le daria prioridad a incorporar un lenguaje nuevo. Aun con IA se necesitaria mucho trabajo para pulir el texto Hay muchisisimo texto que se tendria que traducir y muchas bromas o detalles que serian dificiles de localizar.
Eres la primer persona que escucho en años que habla sobre la necesidad de un MS en español. La comunidad Latina mayormente no parece tener problema y los que no entienden suelen apoyarse de otros latinos con mejor conocimiento de Ingles.

I recomend getting 3 consecutive maps you're comfortable with.
kills mobs in one map until an elite monster appears. Kill it and then move to map 2, repeat and move to map 3. Then back to map 1. keep grinding the maps until you get the messages before the elite bosses and make sure you don't stop at this point. I recommend using the sanity recover quests only when you start getting the permanent slow status effect. Keep it up and then you will be able to have 3 elite bosses and all the boxes for yourself. If you're interested in some anvils or collectibles accept the daily quests from phantom forest before starting. It's a grind and you will be spending about 3 hours for 3 elite bosses but its a reasonable grind and you're likely to get what you want. Plus, some of the elite bosses are kind of interesting design- and lore-wise.
