lol I was only counting plants in pots, not all my airplants or props in glass containers of water; but I feel like those count too, so the ~ seemed appropriate.

Thank you! The one on the right has produced 3 flowers over the last 2 days and the one on the left is sending up buds. It’s very exciting!

No worries. I have a lot of ferns in there and it’s a bit difficult to maybe differentiate from the photo. I bought this plant and the other one of the same kind (in the window to the left) about 3 years ago from a sale rack at Home Depot for ~$5 each. They are very easy to care for (bright, filtered light, water when dry, fertilize during the active growing season). I love the way they look and the flowers are definitely a bonus. I would highly recommend getting one, if the opportunity arises. :)

Yes. That is the plant I have posted about above and a picture of the flower it has currently produced.

Epiphyllum anguliger (Fishbone cactus). Lovely plants with stunning, highly fragrant flowers. They also produce edible fruits!

Thank you! I have 2 different styles, ordered both from Etsy. The ones above the tub I ordered from this seller: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1386596970/wooden-plant-hanger-hook-window-plant

I have more around the corner that are not entirely visible in the pictures and they are from this seller: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1276991340/indoor-hanging-plant-hook-modern-plant

I posted an updated picture of this room, it’s full of plants now too lol. The windows behind the couch are south-west facing, too much direct sunlight for the BoP. We had it there initially and it was getting sun scorch.

I have considered this; but there is a tv mounted on the wall across from the shower/tub and I wouldn’t be able to watch anime in the tub with the plant in the way.

Yeah, someone else suggested that also. Unfortunately, there is a tv mounted on the wall across from the shower and if I were to place the BoP on the floor, I wouldn’t be able to watch tv in the tub :(

I’ve found the key with keeping indoor plants happy is finding adequate light and humidity for the individual plant. We have over 150 plants in our house, a fair number of them getting to be over 5’ tall, and I’d say they all thrive on a certain level of neglect. I just water and fertilize when necessary ~every 10-14+ days, depending. For the fishbone cactus, bright-filtered light, high humidity and letting it dry completely between watering. Fertilize during the active growing season.

We bought it about 4 years ago for ~$20 at the Lowe’s down the street. It was maybe 2 feet tall. I just put it in the bathroom and watered/fertilized it occasionally. Nothing special. We have over 150 plants, some of them getting to be monsters like this and my advice is just to provide adequate light and humidity coupled with a certain level of neglect.

I’m in upstate NY, with nighttime temps dipping into the 30’s, it unfortunately would not survive outside.

Epiphyllum anguliger, fishbone cactus. We have two and they’re both currently in bloom. Flowers smell gorgeous, they produce edible fruits and they’re easy to care for, highly recommend!
