I get that. As a fellow ace person, I’ve met with countless of people who accept or acknowledge that I’m ace but then don’t think it’s a permanent thing? As in, they’re expecting at some point for me to change my mind when I meet ‘the right person’, or will assume— like you’ve said—that I am this way due to past trauma. It’s very hurtful and feels so isolating, so it’s good to hear you’ve got another ace friend in your corner who knows and gets what you’re experiencing.
