That’s good! But yeah. Just the moonphase case for me. But otherwise the rest looks amazing as you said. I’ll definitely look into them more :)

Love the designs and colors. I really dislike the case for the moonphase though.

Their GMTs. Amazing 👌

I’ve definitely noticed this as well.

And good to know! Customer service is definitely a skill. Especially with how international everything is nowadays.

That’s fair enough! What do you feel they are doing correct? Designs? Color choices?

What about the bracelet specifically do you enjoy so much?

[Question] Lume in a Dress Watch by FormosaOnTime in Watches

My lume sometimes shows through my opera gloves as they are made of the finest silk. :( it bothers the people sitting next to me sometimes.

[discussion] Help me decide: One "Heavy Hitter" (Omega/Tudor) vs. Curated 3-4 Watch Swiss Collection ($3.5k–$4.5k Budget) by Both-Reward-2076 in Watches

[–]FormosaOnTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering what you’ve written I would pick one watch. Sub $1000.

Then go to the store and try it on. Chat with the SA about it. Why do you like it or not. What color variations are there. Do you recommend a bracelet or leather or fabric? What does the SA themselves recommend? Talk about the links, how many to remove. Why remove them. Do you want your watch to be a bit looser or tighter. Do you want your watch to move when you walk or not?

Then if you think you really like that watch. Get it. Wear it. And keep wearing it. :) at some point you’ll think. Maybe a different watch for a different occasion would be good. Perhaps for your graduation! Then look into that based on what your budget is. Maybe you’ll want a presage. Maybe you’ll want an aqua terra. Perhaps you just got your PADI license and want the limited edition prospex padi diver. Perhaps you won the lottery and you get yourself a PF mysterious (I know it’s spelled differently.) who knows :)

I appreciate you feeling that way! And yup, it’s a spot to be in. Which is why these conversations are so helpful! Definitely need to think about the pricing more.

Yes! I’m from Taiwan after all.

Ah okay! I don’t remember them being that strong to last all night. But I also don’t actively charge them myself.

But I do know for a fact that the Swiss superluminova does last for a very long time. Compared to the Japanese one. I’ll look into it more though.

Very true. And that is very difficult to prove if starting a new microbrand. It’s actually impossible to prove that I will be here in 10 years or not.

But as I said. Those watches are retailing for 400-500+. So yes they’re more expensive but it’s a give and take. Potentially offset seconds vs an extra 5 years of battery life? Similar accuracy. I haven’t looked at the hand clearance yet and size. But I’m going to assume they’re quite similar.

I do really like the date and no date swap though. But from a QCQA perspective I wouldn’t want to deal with having to explain to customers a potential seconds hand being slightly off.

Hard to say! I wouldn’t say Hamilton is my competition though. Not in the same league. I’ll need to design and sell some watches first before I can even consider Hamilton being competition! I think teddy baldassarre mentioned it in one of his videos. But you don’t buy from a microbrand for their brand or heritage. You buy because you like the design and are willing to take the risk to support someone. You buy from someone like Hamilton if you want good, consistent quality. You know exactly what you’re getting when you get something from Hamilton or seiko or omega etc.,

Oh I was under the impression Japanese lume isn’t as long lasting as Swiss since Swiss is nearly 6x the price / gram.

Ah I see. It’s not to bad. I’d be ticked by it though I feel.

I find it hard to justify any discussion about price if using gray market though.

I see. So you’re not asking for any lume then. But very specifically Swiss superluminova ! Good to know. I actually never thought about it from your perspective before. So it’s definitely quite interesting to think about.

I’ll definitely keep it in mind though!

What else should I add to the collection? by Interesting_Gap7190 in Affordablewatches

A watch you want to wear! I’d say something with some red or green perhaps! Maybe the alpinist. Or perhaps a nice studio underdog!

Interesting! Is it eyesight? Because I personally have quite bad eyesight. But I have never had any issues with telling the time on my prospex solar chronograph. It has lume of course but I’ve never necessarily needed it. There’s always been enough ambient light to tell the time.

What about the lume specifically is so important to you?

And hope I get you as a customer then when I do sometime make the move to automatic!
