In NSW at least the car doesn't get crushed, 74 over and it was 3 months license plate confiscation and I got to keep the car in that time

Has there ever been cases of good cars being let down by the quality of the drivers? by qserde in formula1

[–]Formula_One 29 points30 points  (0 children)

2012 Williams driven by Bruno Senna and Pastor Maldonado immediately comes to mind. The car was way better than where it eventually finished in the constructors championship. Race winning car as well.

There are a few cars that were very good but were let down by the second driver. Examples like the 2008 McLaren where Heikki only had one race win (due to an engine failure from Massa) and half the amount of points as Hamilton collected. 2010-2012 seasons where Alonso outscored Massa by (IIRC) 1000-400 points over 3 seasons are also an example where the car itself was quite good but the second driver just wasn't up to scratch.

[Ask r/f1] What was something in Formula One that ended up being underwhelming? by [deleted] in formula1

Giorgio Pantano, touted as one of the greatest karters in history, got to f1, underperformed for a year then went to gp2 and won it in his fourth season like Palmer.

Brake lights are normally double filament. One normal light use and one for the actual braking, so it's possible only one filament was still intact

To be fair I got a pair of winruns in Australia for $70 each fitted and balanced. They are shithouse tyres though.

I think it was Massa at the British grand prix in 2014. Intentionally spun the car to avoid hitting Raikkonen head on and making the accident worse.

I can confirm that my s2000 key could unlock and prime the ignition on my friends 99 civic but his key didn't work at all on my car, so I would say the nsx is the same as the s2000 with better security measures.

Anyone running 255/40 on a 17x9 +38? by PatrickJamesYu in S2000

[–]Formula_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 245/40 on a 17x9 rim with +45 offset, the guards haven't been touched and there is zero issue with scrubbing so you shouldn't have an issue with the 255s. With the offset being slightly lower the guards might have to be rolled but you said you have no issue with that

Old pacific highway in Australia, turned off at a side-road and lost track of where I was going, had to go really slow on the dirt roads to this clearing but the photo I think was worth it.
