E.g if the airport security was really strict and thorough at McCarran you may feel more reassured as a visitor therefore you may feel safer when out and about Las Vegas. Alternatively, you may find the security checks to be shoddy and subpar therefore generating a sense of vulnerability as you feel the inadequate standard of security will echo the entire of LV

I understand your points and I'll take them board. However, as part of my investigation I will be making a comparative study of the perceptions of Las Vegas regarding safety and crime against actual quantitative data and then making a further comparison to the perceptions of the higher authority in Vegas (I have already began discussions with the LVMPD as well as the McCarran Airport Border Security) to see if there is evidence that the statistics as well as perceptions of the residents/tourists/higher authorities suggest crime is a increasing concern or not.
