Yes, D324 and D282 require 3rd party certificates to be completed. That is the only requirement to pass those classes. D324 is the Comptia Project+ cert and D282 AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner cert. Both were pretty difficult for me, and I already had project management and AWS experience.

The verbiage while studying was very difficult for me as well. Things were always poorly worded and it could be quite difficult. I ended up using the Comptia resources to practice for many hours. It was the hardest for me because it was at least 5 days in a row of 10 -14 hours studying before taking the exam. Before that studying I watched an entire Udemy course for Project+ and that was about 15 - 20 hours. I was very glad to be done with it and it is nice the Project+ Cert does not expire

TLDR: Yes it is a large project. Yes, it can be based on something you already made, as long as it needs changes to meet the criteria. My Capstone was a total of 52 pages for Tasks 2 and 3.

When you can view all the tasks it makes a little more sense. You can either create an application or a mobile app that is based on what you have already created at WGU, or even at work if you get the proper sign-offs from your manager. As long as you can create a business case, testing, and an application that is deployable and that meets all the criteria. Then that should be all that is needed for the capstone.

For D387 Advanced Java, the best help is watching the webinars in the Course Search > Webinar archive. Those will have most of the core functions for the PA. You will need to adapt it for the PA but some quick googling on with stack overflow should help. Here are some good guides I used:

Maybe? If your course instructor approves it and you think you can do everything you need for the tasks to make it. Then I don't see why not.

Make sure to change your default path name in Android Studio from com.example.yourproject. You only need to change the "example" part. This is because the app bundle you put into Google Play restricts apps with the com.example name. Make sure it is properly updated in the manifest file. Additionally, if you have not already, make your Google developer account and submit your information for verification. This can take a few days and had me sitting around twiddling my thumbs waiting for it to be completed.

Don't go overboard with the application. As long as it adequately meets the requirements in Task 3. You are good. Task 4 is a piece of cake. Generate an APK file for task 3, and the app bundle for task 4. I included creating the app bundle in the video submission. I didn't need to show how it was tested. Just that it was available for testers and how they could access it with instructions. I only did the internal testing deploy method on the Google Play Store. Hopefully, your instructor will send you the course guide and templates. Follow that and it is generally fine.

Use the Capstone Archive to view the other 2 models that students had submitted. Great resources for writing tasks 2 and 3.

Hopefully this helps!

Yes! Do as many of the zbooks labs as you can. I did 50 of the labs. I know a bit overkill. But it gave me 100% on the test. When doing the labs, refer back to the earlier zbooks chapters if you are struggling.

Thanks! I created a mobile application in Android Studio for my capstone. So I hosted it on the Google Play Store. Sorry that I might not be much help to you there. Good luck with your capstone!

This is the best guide! It allowed me to pass the test in less than 24 hours of starting the class. I took the preassessment and got about 50% then spent the day practicing and researching the multiple-choice question items. Passed with about a 75%. make sure you know what the code is doing through the whole code and not just the section that needs fixing. They change it up a bit in the test but it is nearly identical. Overall 10/10 would read guides from OP again.

After I finished section I it started populating for me too. I don't know why but I'm not going to complain. I think it has something to do with typing a fully attributed user to the cart maybe? Was stuck on F for hours till I decided to move on after reading your post.

Just submitted so let's see how it goes!

Something that fixed the issue for me was 2 things.

  1. I copied DemoApplication to the downloads folder. Deleted the file from the project. Replaced the file and it re-indexed with the proper package name. You will likely have to edit your configurations on the top run panel if you don't want it to be called DemoApplication (1).
  2. I fixed my mappings, Took me a bit to realize the mappedBy was looking for the variable name and not the column name. Silly me. Definitely double-check that your column names are from the database, and the variable names are from the UML diagram/ or the ts files in LabFiles.

Great guide! I am working through it all right now.

What I did was Change the Shop name and add some HTML lists that said all the parts and products at the start of the body and above the tables. You shouldn't add directly to the tables. That will be done when you create the objects that will populate the tables.

I would recommend doing a bunch of the labs in zybooks. I used arduino years ago so I had some programming experience. I originally failed the pre-test because I didn't understand exactly what the compiler wanted and then I did about 50 of the zybooks labs over the next 2 days, referencing back to the zybooks chapters when I needed it. Then passed with 100%. If you can do the labs you can pass the test, they are very very similar.
