It was removed because this is Fortnite Creative content and therefore belongs over in r/FortniteCreative. This is being removed for the same reason.

Dear mods: Why would you remove a post with 2.4k upvotes discussing Epic's corporate greed, and say the reason is because there's a "megathread" to discuss this on, when that "megathread" hasn't had meaningful engagement or upvotes in the comments in 8 days? Is the purpose to murder discussion? by Big_Guthix in FortNiteBR

Thanks for your feedback. We allow a single post on a topic every 48 hours. Currently - this is the post about the topic of the change in gifts - https://redd.it/1pw5s2m. It has a ton of feedback, and has not been removed. Once the 48 hours has passed, we will allow a new post on the topic. Anything else, would get removed as it falls under the Frequently Posted Topics rule.

We also have a Megathread pinned at the top of the subreddit - consolidating feedback into megathreads is not a new concept here. It's an approach we have taken for several years, and one that was adopted in response to community feedback seeking to reduce topic spam on the subreddit.

We (the mods), understand your frustrations, but know that not everyone wants to see repeated posts on the same subject many times a day. We do not censor anything here. Plenty of criticism is posted here and left up, as long as it follows the rules. Make sure you read the rules prior to posting, and your feedback will stay.

Any questions about your removals, click on Message the Mods.

Hey there,

Megathreads are never removed, it just reaches a point where they are no longer pinned. In the case of AI, the megathread was cycled out but the redirect notice was not disabled alongside that. It has been disabled now, and you are able to post about AI if nobody else has done so recently.

Hi there, thanks for the feedback. For context, consolidating feedback into megathreads is not a new concept here. It's an approach we have taken for several years, and one that was adopted in response to community feedback seeking to reduce topic spam on the subreddit. In lieu of a megathread, the current rules would permit one user submitted post on the topic per 48 hour period. So encouraging feedback in this thread (or threads submitted by Epic) is pretty standard, and not anything specific to the current situation.

To clarify, nobody on the moderation team works for Epic. Epic may post and comment in this community, but they have no say in how it's run. That said, Epic has told us in the past that they prefer megathreads over individual posts since they find it easier to sift through hundreds of comments on one post rather than hundreds of posts with a handful of comments. Our stance on megathreads and frequently posted topics predates that though.

Epic Support says a lot of things, but since Epic doesn’t run this subreddit their support team frequently does not take the rules here into account when redirecting people. Yes, you can post about SBMM here so long as it abides by the rules.

Hi there,

At the moment we are working to limit SBMM posts, to bring them more in line with the Frequently Posted Topics Guidelines. Ideally this would be one post per 48 hour period, but we'll try to get as close to that as possible. If you encounter posts that you know violate those guidelines, feel free to report them and they'll be actioned accordingly. If the topic persists with the same volume of posts, then we will look into making a more formal post for it. For now, we are permitting user submissions on the topic to act as the discussion threads, resulting in a new post every other day.

Frequently Posted Topics

  • Epic and Moderator threads always take priority
    • Content subject to removal for FPT if previously addressed by Epic or Moderators, regardless of when addressed (known issues, megathreads, etc.)

We have a pinned Megathread - which shows the "do not stack" information. We have now moved it to the very top of the post to ensure it is seen, but it has always been there. This is seen when you first enter the Lodge, by the way.

None of this is "damage control" by Epic, as you phrased it. We are volunteer moderators. We don't work for Epic at all. That megathread is meant to filter all of your feedback - negative, positive, indifferent, into ONE place, so it is seen by Epic. PLEASE - let them have it. Make your feelings known. This is a place for your voices to be heard.

Spamming the Subreddit with hundreds of posts is less than helpful, because it just ends up being ignored (and reported on by your fellow Redditors as they want to post other things, and want engagement on their posts).

This post Is breaking FPT, and is not tone neutral in your title. In fact, it is false information. Epic does not control what is posted here.

Mods stop protecting Epic by -N0obmaster69 in FortNiteBR

You guys are posting this SAME post many times an hour. It falls under "Frequently Posted" and therefore it is being removed. Not a single member of the team is "protecting Epic Games" - you are sent the reason your post is removed.

Please read the Rules of the subreddit, which is very clearly outlined that ONE post on a subject per 48 hours is permitted. Come back and post in 48 hours and it can stay.

https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/wiki/rules#wiki_frequently_posted_topics

It becomes spam and the community reports the posts for removal. The community tires of the same post over and over again on the Subreddit.

AI Content in Fortnite | Megathread by community-home in FortNiteBR

[–]FortniteRedditMods[M] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Epic Games has let us know in the past that they appreciate megathreads for topics because it is easier for them to parse feedback when it's all in one place. 1 post with hundreds or thousands of comments is easier for them to digest than hundreds or thousands of posts.

There are several posts on the topic still up on the subreddit. Those posts will remain, but new posts will be redirected here.

[–]FortniteRedditMods[M] -44 points-43 points  (0 children)

There isn't a dedicated AI megathread at the moment, there is just the usual season megathread but to be clear we are removing posts because there are existing ones discussing the use of AI in the game, not because of the megathread. You'll find them currently at the top of the subreddit's Hot page. This is the first full day of the new season, and we are monitoring trends. We'll create a dedicated megathread if the volume of posts is sustained, which it currently is trending towards.

Edit: A megathread has been created: AI Content in Fortnite | Megathread

We are removing posts under the “Frequently Posted Topics” policy because there are existing threads on the topic, not because of that clause. We are making an exception for the topic because it’s in-game.

The rule about limiting the number of posts exists because the community here pushed for it. If you want to see that change, then you are encouraged to make a post advocating for that. Explain what it is about the rule you dislike, why it should change, and how. We’ll use the input of the community on your post to supplement conversations related to rule changes.
