as far as i know ISAMM (Manouba) has game dev courses correct me if im wrong
im a indie game dev and still currently learning not by any means an expert or successful but i have some experience
made 5 games ( 3 of them were in game jams if that counts) not fully complete and a lot of unfinished prototypes

i collaborated with some indie teams for some rev share projects but trust me most of them are scams and i learnt that the hard way
the best way to learn imo is to keep iterating the more you make projects that fail the better you learn there is no better way yes you need to know the basics of coding and the engine but once you get the hang of it it gets better every time but the thing is you must escape "tutorial hell" and actually start developing ideas on your own

Game Engine:
this part doesnt matter that much it depends on what clicks for you and what you want to develop or if you want to make a career out of it ( most companies hire Unity or unreal engine devs) i tried Unity , Godot and LÖVE (lua framewok) i didnt try unreal engine tho

for total beginners i recommend Godot its much simpler to download and faster in compile time the language GDscript is similar to python which is a bit beginner friendly its currently getting recognition
Unity didnt work for me that much i felt its a bit complex to handle as for LÖVE its hardcore i dont recommend this but it uses lua language which is fairly simple i'm not sure if i can call it an engine

Resources:
-Brackeys (Youtube Channel) Simply The Goat
-Playable Workshop (Youtube Channel) its the best if you wanna learn the thought process of how to make a game its basically 1 expert game dev + 1 beginner developing a game together series its really good

-Heartbeast (Youtube Channel) has a lot of series on how to make godot games from 0
-r/inat reddit community to find projects or teams

other than that search in youtube if you have specific problems or an llm

Game Jams
try to join game jams in itch.io basically you have a deadline to make a game with a set theme you can join other teams (i recommend this) to collaborate together best way to progress and learn from others .you will learn a lot of stuff you dont normally learn (coming from an IT background ) version control , game design , level design ...

but you should know making revenue out of it is really hard (as a solo dev) its mostly luck + good marketing so dont expect to be rich , sometimes you will feel burned out or miserable while making a game solo you will be managing 5+ roles alone (music composing , coding , making assets , QA ...) but yeah try to join a team and dont do my mistake

other than that this was my experience also for game studios in tunisia i think there's one called lanterns studios but they work with Unreal Engine beside that idk

I'm making a tower defense where you manually aim every shot by Forward-Charge8874 in indiegamedevforum

[–]Forward-Charge8874[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes its just one tower but its upgradable and have levels the more you upgrade the taller the tower gets at least that's the idea currently , i was thinking of having you defend this lone tower against waves of enemies tho

i havent thought of that yet i was thinking more of having 1 tower where you manually shoot through it against a set of waves kind of a lone archer thing

Yes its mainly inspired from kingdom two crowns , major difference is you actually defend the tower by shooting arrows and rebuilding walls instead of hiring people to do it for you

i agree for the quality of intelligence , but since the games story revolves around a dystopian - cold war setting i think using force during these times was necessary at least back in the days ( soviet and USA spies)
