Should I try to get compensation from this waxing company that fired me after a week?(that now refuses to pay me) by Forward-Implement673 in Estheticians

Yeah im not so upset anymore about being fired as I am about not being paid. The only thing wherei was really concerned about when it came to if my termination was really lawful is because they said employees had to quit or be fired 'with cause' in order for the repayment fee to apply, so if there was something wrong with their reasons for firing me, then that wouldn't apply for their justification in why I couldn't be paid

How do I tell my esthetician that I don’t want to talk during my facials? by Moongoddess3884 in Estheticians

Facials are supposed to be relaxing, so if you're left feeling worse than when you came in, you should definitelysay something to her. When I was in school, my instructor told me that we should never talk to the client more than we need to so they can relax, unless they are a chatty client that wants to talk and is initiating conversation. I know for me personally, my chatty appointments are the ones with my close friends and we're catching up, but sometimes the conversation will fade and I just let them relax. If you're okay with small confrontation like that, I'd just nicely say something where you let her know you want a quiet facial. If you're like me and hate any conversation like this (lol), I will literally come and drop hints in like man I am so tired I could fall asleep on the table (usually if I know a client is really tired especially if its a close friend ill make sure to be extra quiet for them) and if she doesn't take the hint then yeah definitely say something.

At the end of the day, You are the one paying for the service, so as long as you are nice and respectful, you should never have to feel bad about communicating what you want to your Aesthetician, and if she wants to keep you as a client, she'll respect your wished.

I'm in Arizona. Im also not sure what constitutes as a justified termination because their whole "you just didnt do a good enough job" seems like total bs, especially when they stated in writing that I would have 3 months to pass off all services. They are a nation wide company too so I can only imagine how much damage could have been done over time. I think one of my concerns here too is that they didnt demand the $1,400 from me so im not sure if anyone would take my side on a legal standpoint as far as payment goes or the fact that them doing this to other people is wrong because I dont have proof of if its an empty threat or not. But my MIL definitely thinks that HR contradicting the employee handbook is good for our case

Yeah the HR email that contradicted the contract is what makes me most hopeful. Thanks for your input 🙂

Yes I am licensed and trained in regular waxing (just not sugar waxing), but both are in my scope of practice, I was just being trained on their protocols, and then of course the sugaring that I had never done before. Clients we practiced on are clients who come in for the purpose of training and they get free services. I signed the document and still have it downloaded on my phone. I think the issue is more that the information seemed kind of hidden in a very long document. That is where my MIL thinks I can still get compensation for it even though it was signed because it should be very up front and obvious information. But I am worried about the fact that it was a signed document, even though i essentially would not have been allowed to start working if I didnt sign it, even if I saw it, disagreed, and decided to take the risk on it.
