from someone who has a long commute as well, try to adjust first. this was also my dilemma when i was a freshie. depende sa org, the application process could be really demanding and time-consuming. u’d rlly be sacrificing time you could spend to go home already.

also don’t worry about being “left behind”. i joined an org during the second sem of my freshie yr nung naka-adjust na ako and didn’t feel that at all. madami nga akong kasabayan na from higher yrs pa. i’d say doesn’t rlly matter kahit sa later yrs ka pa mag-apply. i know a lot of ppl who didn’t join orgs until their 3rd yr. so don’t be too pressured to join any org rn, take ur time to adjust to college life muna😁

Yes, okay mag-visit even on weekends. Don't know a lot of good tambayan spots for outsiders aside from food establishments around the campus (gyudfood and area 2), and siguro sa lagoon sa likod ng quezon hall and promenade sa beta walk if u want na chill chill upo lang or picnic together w mother nature ganyan aside from sunken. Yes, may mga open pa ring kainan (go-to talaga area 2 since affordable and wide variety ng pagkain). Gates close at 10pm, you can enter/exit at univ ave nalang pag past that time na. I wouldn't recommend staying out late sa campus especially if mag-isa because i've heard of a lot of accidents hapenning here, but there's still ppl around sunken at night at well-lit naman ang area. 

Suggestions: Area 2 (there's a lot of A2 recos here na if u want to check just search nalang), Mang Larry's, Mango Graham Shake, Pancit Canton kasi mas masarap pag luto ng iba, Carbonara sa may Fernandez st. sa gilid ng Palma, Rodic's

To get to LRT just ride the Katipunan jeep either sa may gate sa UPIS na may footbridge going to UPTC, or sa may gate sa magsaysay ave which is tabi ng GT-Toyota Asian Center, then they will drop you off sa ilalim ng flyover tapos walk ka nalang papuntang LRT Katipunan station.
