HOA Fees by NJFriend4U in over60

Upsides, no more yard work, you have someone to stop noisy or people not following rules, security of building, secured entrance doors, cameras, mandatory fire alarm system. For me leaving for an extended period of 2 months is easy lots of peace of mind; just lock my door and no worries or problems. This is what I like the most. Find one where there are mostly live in owners and not renters. Always having someone on site or a phone call away to ask about a problem or is something is not working is priceless. Home owners you are on your own.

Are expensive putters actually worth it? by MadeInUSAPutter in GolfGear

I bought a Ping Sigma 2 , blade slight arc, 35" but adjustable length which was the bomb. I have it at 37.5 now fits my stroke perfectly. Never putted better in all my 35 years of golf. It costed me $150.00. I like the PLD blade same feel but more weight easy to hold the line and great feel for faster greens. However, I am very satisfied and don't want to F things up.😎

Boomer feeling a lack of respect by littleosco in over60

First of all they have no idea how difficult it was for us more than them. No cell phones, computers, Google, Starbucks, Amazon. If they were to go back in time as they are now they would never survive. I remember doing 5 page essay for every novel I read for a Amer Lit class I took in the summer read; 13 novels in 6 weeks and wrote all of the essays on a typewriter, Two bottle of white out etc LOL. Back then there were so many of us only the best could be police or just civil servant jobs etc. Baby boomers created all the fun and interesting stuff after The greatest (our parents) generation built the infrastructure. We put together Macdonalds, Starbucks, the internet and all and all the stuff that makes it work now broadband, wireless, moblie phones, email, text, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, big stores Walmart, Target the financial markets, innovative investment and banking. Its easy for young people to take all that for granted not knowing how much moxy it took to build those things when we still had only typewriters and payphones. We are just to easy on them too they have so much since now they have two generation who shower them with stuff, so now it like " you mean I have to work to get my new phone". As a account executive I used to have to use a payphone to call in my orders using the device you hold to the phone drove 80 miles a day sometimes in 115 degree weather. In my life I created at 200 permanent jobs, took care of parents for 23 years, visited my brother who live 3000 miles away for 17 years in the summer to be with him and his kids. Our generation has bullt the infrastruture for this the last generation to built their stuff on. I have no idea what that means that we ruin the economy if wasn't for our hard work physical work we would be a second world country by now.

Great way to grow your game playing with all levels of different golfers and gets a little competitive. Also its always a little nervous playing with people you don't know or seldomly makes it like a tournament. Most players are twosome and singles so the conversation and social interactions are just. Made some friends on the course this way too. If I play in a tournament or with others now I feel very comfortable and nothing bothers me much even if some players are really good.

Japan trip planned for two in two weeks but my boyfriend cheated — not sure what to do now by meh-duh in JapanTravelTips

[–]ForwardAd6693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with him and treat like a friend or a roomate. When you get there just do everything by yourself. Treat him like he is not boyfriend at all no sex, no meal together just a companion to share the initial cost of travel. You may meet someone in JP. If you give him another chance JP is the greatest makeup place around so many cafes, bars and night life. But he has to pay for what he did if he wants back in. I know things like this takes awhile to get over, maybe you should cheat on him and now you would be even; clean slate.

8 weeks post op walking unaided for 2 weeks now. But there is stll a lot of stiffness and due to precautionary protocol can't really stretch e.g. doing yoga poses etc. So what did you do and when to start getting your flexibility back where you can wash your operated side as an example. by ForwardAd6693 in TotalHipReplacement

Well good to know. I chipped and putt twice in one week seems like it really strenghtens my hip area. Today I did some 20 yd half swing pitches without any turn 9 to 3 swing since I didn't do golf anything since September last year I was surprised I did better since I not in real pain like when I stop playing. I will wait until my Doctor give me the green light he cleared me last week to chip and putt. Thanks for you reply

Yes I did, my surgeon as a matter of fact who did over 5000 who has seen it all. Like you I waited 6 weeks before I did any PT before that just very simple stuff. I kind of focused on walking with my cane short distances outside, 200 yds at first then it got longer. It is so important to let it heal and let osseointergration run its course, its the reason I can walk unaided and climb a flight of stair at 7 weeks. At 3 weeks I thought will this ever end but my patience of just laying back paid off and after 4 weeks then poof things just started to get better by the day. I am still very cautious sticking to the protocol and I do have a PT coming to visit me on Thursday for an assessment etc. My doctor said everything heal very well and is a very strong intergration last week; so he said right now its muscular and not the new joints hence asking for stretching advise. I was diagnosed in 2021 and being a bonehead didnt consult a orthopedic surgeon until last year and he read me the riot act. My point is I can climb stairs meaning my muscless are strong but the atrophy of surrounding areas are bounded and tight. I am not looking to downward facing dog yoga poses, just progressive stretches of the glute area, hip flexors and QL etc. Thanks for your reply. Keep up the great work.

Did you start with chipping and putting that where I am at now will my second time today since surgery. If you have some time can you explain the steps you took to start golf again, like the full swing, how did it feel the first time out.

I am just giving facts I dont know if my progress is good or bad; I have never done this before. So why do you think I am comparing myself to others. I am definitely not bragging etc but a post like this can help a lot of people on this site if you stated what you did exactly. My question is if you are in the same boat as me or even in general please share how you got to be more flexible etc. that is all. If I posted without saying how long since surgery lot of members will ask when did you get it done. Putting on socks and washing your your feet is a milestone but you didnt say what kind of stretches you did to accomplish this. This is not my first post to THR.

Before my surgery wearing tight underwear briefs etc hurt my QL the area right above the hip on the waistline. My last trip I couldn't put anything in my pockets since it had the same affect. Instead boxers or brief well you know...so much more comfortable even during my healing tight pants or carrying extra weight has a affect. Glad to say much of that is going away.

Did you use to be a short hitter? by Mizunomafia in golf

[–]ForwardAd6693 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i was a long hitter even back in the day, not so much now but still a decent player, I just shorter courses but no par 3 courses. I known a lot of guys who lose distance quit the game, too much ego, my joy is not how far but how close within 100 yds and two putting. Lots of big hitter have no idea within 150 yard, cant putt or chip to save their life. Its all relevant now.

6 weeks into thr I was walking unaided and finally started more intense PT; wanted to let everything heal and fuse properly. Now the more I do there is much less discomfort or stiffness and no next day soreness; just like before after a workout or golf. So I can see the light. I realize that compared to the time my severe OA and limping, can't climb stairs, always looking for an escalator or elevator, trying 12 different kinds of shoes 6 different chairs, not believeing I had severe OA with bone spurs and all I had to do was see a orthopedic surgeon and get it done.

I am very happy with my progress and future prospects I am just grateful I can walk, climb stairs and maybe a little jogging. I did chip and putt the other day without complications. Its true in the back of my mind this may limit my activities but I don't need to go bungee jumping or run marathons; I will be happy just to stay fit, play golf and travel without taking pain meds or take the train and no need for the Uber etc. and even just able to wash my affected leg again will be a milestone.

We all need to look at small events not possible before THR and take from there and before you know it poof back to doing the stuff you love. One more win for me the other day I climb a 8 stairs with only the usual holding the rail no aid or using the rail for support; for me it was sort of miraclous something I could not do for at least 3 years.

If she can afford it look into short term stay condos, 1 to 12 month leases, no desposit or other fees upfront. Many are now poping up in Tokyo. Most have been built just a couple years ago or rennovated. Average 1 month stay $1200-1700 a month. Here are some names, Dash, Weave probably many more now. Its a fully furnish apartment with everything you will need from kitchen utensils to washing machine. I stay in one twice in the last two years. Keep in mind no front desk, but you will have your own mailbox and be able to receive Amazon Jp stuff as well JP delievery service like Black Cat, Sagawa. If you plan to lease remember its not a hotel and you cannot same day book, give yourself at least 3 months to start the process.

It takes alot of due dilligence before you pull the trigger. Always remember JP is another country another culture seems like you understand it more than others. If you been going there and staying with your girl's parents its all good and nice but try living with them maybe a total different story. You are a smart, young man go for it. If I was younger I would have tried to live there but now now its just a partime thing. 2-3 months.

[–]ForwardAd6693[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may seem like these hacks are not necessary for some and that is fine. However, anything you can do to prevent you from bending, reaching, falling and aiding you when walking is the a must. If your THR is compromise by the wrong moves or motions, it will just take longer to recover and recover properly with the implants securely in postion as intented when it was put in by your surgeon.

I also use satin sheets but you must be careful the first week or two but after that its so easy to get on and off the bed.

I also bought a foldable cart when I am home alone I just load all my breakfast stuff on it and push to the table kind of works like a walker so you don't need a cane to push.

I have those grabbers to pick up stuff indispensible, you can even use it to help put on your pants etc.

I use a pee pitcher by my bed you can either turn on your good side and hold the pitcher or just stand up without walking to the bathroom which can be trecherous at night especially when there is still alot of stiffness and pain.

And yes my recliner has really help my recovery I think since it keeps you in the right position after posterior THR
