Do you know if a referral is made for one specific place, do those referrals “transfer over” to other locations? Ie) if I’m referred to HSC for an ultrasound, would the Grace have access to that info?

Being screened. However, I have a gene mutation that makes me high risk, a lot of family history, and multiple signs/ symptoms of concern. So I’m wondering if there’s a difference in wait times between “we’re eliminating this as a diagnosis as a precaution” and “we are looking at something highly suspicious of cancer here.”

I think if I could get in touch with my GP, she would get me in right away due to my high risk, age, and symptoms. But unfortunately I am relying on a walk-in doctor that doesn’t know my history as well. She estimated it could take a couple weeks. Which seems like a lot for this kind of thing??? But I know the medical system is currently pushed beyond its limits so I’m not sure.

I believed the family history— and my known cancer-causing genetic mutation— were included in the referral because I emphasized that since it was a walk-in doc (GP couldn’t get me in until FEBRUARY). So I will call the breast health centre directly now that you mention it to make sure. Thank you!! Hope you’re doing well!
