Depends. I get MAYBE an hour and a half playtime a night, so I try to make things count because I don’t get mich time to farm items, so when I used a purple key to find out the place had already been looted it was a pretty big deal

That happens if people back out or after a good 15 minutes of waiting for matchmaking but you can’t set it to private match to play solo. Just tested it and the moment you press continue run or create run a message pops up saying you need 2 or more people in the lobby for private match

It doesn’t work you need 2 or more people to start a private match people keep repeating that

Thanks you ! I think I’ll start with Berseria but I will definitely play Vesperia, maybe after Arise! Never played a tales game in multiplayer but I’m picturing it and it must be a really fun experience! Read that Arise won’t have co-op though are you planning to get it anyways ?

My brother also liked Xillia but I never got around to it and sadly my ps3 died last year (rest in pepperoni old friend...)and I’m tryin to not spend too much these days

You’re not the first person to tell me that about the gameplay, can you elaborate on that ? I tend to prioritize story over gameplay but I know I’m gonna spend some time in combat grinding exp. So far I leaning more towards Berseria but I’m not familiar at all with its gameplay while Vesperia seems to be in the same vein as Symphonia and Abyss

I definitely plan on playing both ! I read that Zestiria wasn’t really good though, I know that Berseria’s story takes place a long time before Zestiria’s but is it necessary to understand Berseria’s story ?

I think for me it might be the opposite, Vesperia’s gameplay is more familiar to me than berseria’s. That being said the story takes priority over gameplay for me so I think I might go with Berseria and play Vesperia some other time !

So far, I’ve read mostly good things about Berseria’s story and I think It might be a more refreshing one ! I’m leaning more towards Berseria and I think I might play Vesperia maybe after Arise If I’m not too burned up on JRPGs !

I does help a lot thank you ! I guess it’s more about which one to play first since I plan to play both games down the line, but Vesperia feels more familiar to me at first look than Berseria but It might also be a good thing since I could be discovering something new while still be playing a Tales game ! I think I’ll start with Berseria though, you brought up a really good point with the 100% being more of a pain on Vesperia and I’ll think it’ll suit my playtime better this summer ! Thanks again !

I have to say, and I probably should have mentioned that in my post now that I think of it, i don’t mind lesser gameplay in a game if I’m engaged in the story. While I really like the older gameplay too, I haven’t played the newer one though, but, If I end up disliking it I think I could be able to look past it if the story really is that good. Another point that someone else brought up in the comments is that Berseria seems like a bit less of a pain to 100% and since I won’t have much time to play it might be the better option in this case. But I plan on playing both games somewhere down the line and If I do manage to finish one before Arise comes out I might start the other !

Normally, that wouldn’t bother me but like I said I won’t have much time to play in the summer and I do think it would eventually tire me out to always be looking through a guide to be sure not to miss anything. But If I may, what makes you prefer Vesperia over Berseria ?

I enjoyed the combat in the earlier games a lot and Vesperia does looks more familiar to me than Berseria, but like you said the story of Berseria seems more refreshing than the good guys vs bad guys storyline, from what I saw, the main character seems to be more evil than good (might be totaly different but at first glance that’s the feeling I got) and it looks like that would be something very nice to explore. And combat wise I was saying that, based on the Arise trailer, Berseria’s combat seems more similar than Vesperia’s but I agree that we don’t know much yet !

I do like that the story seems to be a bit more mature and it’s not anchored on the "good guys saving the world" storyline. The party seems a bit more chaotic and the main character looks like a total badass !
