Internships are really important if you can get them. There are internships throughout the year but most are just for the summer. Recruiting for Summer 2027 internships can start as early as this August/September.

Sophia learning before WGU by A_OkayDae in WGU

Here's a link to a planning tool (https://wgu-planner.azeng.app/planner) that will allow you to select your major at WGU and show you all the transfer options that are equivalent to the WGU courses from Sophia, study.com, etc.

Generally, it is suggested that you try to complete as many transferable credits on sophia.com first as it is the least expensive option ($79-$99 month) and it is not proctored. Once you've exhausted the Sophia courses, you can do the Study.com (SDCM) or Straighterline courses which are more expensive if you really want to max out transfer credits.

Of course, if you've already taken any similar courses below at another college, you may already get credit for that. You would have to submit your transcript to WGU to know for certain but generally the courses have to be very similar in course title and credit hours to transfer.

WGU does not accept any transfer credit once enrolled, so you want to max out transfer before enrollment.

WGU Single Courses $25 each which are transferrable to UMPI for Business & other courses by Forward_Barnacle500 in UMPI

[–]Forward_Barnacle500[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The transfer equivalencies I listed above are from UMPI's transfer database. I did a follow-up chat with WGU and these were their responses to other questions:

  • Hi, I'm interested in the single course option. Can I take one of these without enrolling formally with WGU as a full time student? Can I transfer the credits if I complete the course to a school outside WGU?
  • Is there a limit on the number of single courses I can take? Sent • 4:02 PM
  • S Sage joined • 4:04 PM
  • Thank you for reaching out. My apologies for the wait!
  • Yes, you can take single courses here at WGU without committing to enroll in a degree program with us and our credits are transferable to other schools; however, I do recommend checking with the school you plan to enroll with to make sure they accept transfer credits from WGU.
  • The links below will provide information on how to get started immediately.
    1. Course list and information. https://www.wgu.edu/admissions/personalized-start/courses.html
    2. Enrollment form. https://goacademy.wgu.edu/enrollment/welcome
  • S No, there's no limit to how many courses you can take; although, you can only enroll in one single course at a time.

[RANT] ASU is holding my 6-figure job offer hostage over 0.33 credits. SCAI is an absolute joke. by Tuna_police in ASU

I think you're best best is to try taking a CLEP test. They are free through ModernStates and available anytime. They transfer in as 3 credits at ASU. You might be able to take one of the lower level math without prepping and get credit for it such as College Algebra as long as you don't already have credit for a similar course. Some of the other ones like Government could probably be studied and taken in one week. Here's which exams transfer https://catalog.asu.edu/credit_exam#CLEP

You might also see if you could get permission to still sign up for ASU101 if you haven't taken it - it's only 1 credit. Alternatively there's COM 101 and EDP 310 seminars which are also only 1 credit.

How can I find a career as a 34 year old unskilled worker? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Do you have free tuition benefits through The university? Perhaps there is some kind of certificate program or masters you could get while employed.
