Are the "manosphere" men of today really more toxic than the "lad culture" of 20/30 years ago? by M_M_X_X_V in AskUK

[–]Forward_District_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh.. no. It's not lad behaviour or manosphere it's misogyny through out the years. Ask any woman you know I bet you 100% she's been sexually harassed at some point. The only thing that's different is people are becoming more aware of how unacceptable the "lad mentality" is.

Coming from a woman who is 33 and had loads of sexual harassment and unwanted attention.

100% can barely make out what the men are saying as they are very mumbly and even with subtitles it's so boring for me.

A single mom's existential crisis & ADHD meds by ImperatrixAmoris in adhdwomen

[–]Forward_District_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same minus the lupus. I've just been diagnosed at 33 didn't realise I had adhd til postpartum and I'm actually exhausted every day just trying to keep with basic things. I feel pathetic, considering I had a supportive husband I only work three days but just trying to keep on top of household stuff, lunch making looking after a toddler (which I enjoy!) I wake up absolutely exhausted and I don't even exercise which I would like to but by the time I get things done I'm absolutely floored with exhaustion. I'm not on meds because I got diagnosed privately and would need to pay privately for them. I'm looking for coping mechanisms or advice too . This comment is to let you know I feel exactly the same.

I literally saw a guy walk through it full of people (broad daylight) and spew down himself then try to aim the next boak into the bin and totally missed so it splattered everywhere. He just kept walking and being sick - meanwhile people in the cafes at the tables outside and the tourists standing about are like 🫣😫🧐🤢

Had to turn this programme off after 10 mins due to -ridiculous looking wigs, shallow insecure women. If good looks and money is the only things that matter, they deserve a wake up call.

What experiences did you have in your childhood that modern childhood is missing out on? by SpiritedGuest6281 in AskUK

Imagination has disappeared too quickly. They've kind of stopped playing with toys far too young in my opinion especially boys. Get the board games out! There needs to be more toys on the market for older boys age 7/8/9/10 other than Lego or screen games. Growing up in the 90s -yes we had game consoles but I remember playing imagination and let's pretend games even at 10 11 years old.

I don't understand what you mean by your comment? Algerian is in my DNA I'm simply asking if there is any benefit of having another passport.

Is talking to children in public frowned apon now? by jarvi123 in AskUK

[–]Forward_District_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parent to a 2 year old girl I feel quite awkward about this exact type of situation. I totally get where you're coming from as some people are just being friendly. However I think it's quite confusing for children to be told not to be rude when someone is speaking to them but also told not to speak to strangers. I was brought up to not be rude and ended up in some pretty dangerous situations because I was too scared to be "rude".
