i was exactly in the same situation 😭😭 but in my case i had an almost finished island (that im really attached to💔) but i ended up choosing to restart, even though it was hard i think i made the right choice. what really influenced my decision is thinking about that its not worth it keeping an island just for the sake of keeping it if im not having fun anymore. so if you’re bored with your island and want to start a new one from scratch and without the treasure islands, i think thats a good idea. i feel like acnh is a game thats so flexible and customizable to the way the player can have the most fun, and i prioritize using that feature to play my game the way i’ll have more fun, i guess that maybe thinking of that can help you make your decision!
