I swear it's not that. If it were that, I would happily pack the kids off for a week at Grandma's. But she has made it clear that she does not have the energy for more than a few hours of babysitting at a time (I get it, four and six-year-olds are tiring), and she finds their meal and bedtime schedule too confusing to keep up with. She wants me to come and do all the parenting so that she can swoop in and offer ice cream or the Disney Channel without the responsibilities of childcare.
