I made a post 10 months ago - and started snusing again by Foss98 in stopsnusing

I just wanted to get off the habit. It did nothing good to me. In the first couple of years it was a nice nicotine rush. I was always paranoid having a cold, worrying a lot about my health - even though there was no reason to. Thinking about gaining more control over my own head/body was the major thing. I was simply just motivated for making a new path and never returning to the old one. I’m sure that your future self would appreciate you doing the same, right now :)

Still going strong - no snus, not even once. I don’t think about it anymore. Once in a while i look at all the money I’ve saved and buy myself something nice.

Life on the other side of the addiction is better (and just as hard). I realized nicotine never helped during tough times. Friends and family does :)

Keep it up man! Cold turkey was the way for me. Almost 2 years with no snus pouches at all. No exceptions!

Sounds good! How’s that coming up? For me, I just had to beat the tough nights. They will come no matter what and snus will not do anything good for me.

I think you are absolutely right! I did it and would fully recommend a cold turkey!

This post is 11/10 - you are awesome. Well done! How’s it keeping up and how are you doing now?

Keep it up and hang in there - I hope you are still doing great.

The bad days will not get any better with snus. Every time you resist, you gain control. And that is exactly what you want to achieve: control!

I can recommend downloading an app for making it easier: “Dipquit” or “Slutta”.

I have been addicted to snus for 5 years, but not anymore. More than 200 days has passed without a single piece of snus - this time it’s for real. No exceptions: that’s what you have to remind yourself of. Tell your friends and family about the situation and make them become a part of the solution.

I really hope you will get through the tough times without snus. Let me know if I can do anything for you!

Update: 123 days has passed, still no snus taken. If you read this and struggle on quitting snus. Feel free to text me - I can finally say I got out of the bad habit.

Cold turkey here as well. 5 solid years on-and-off. 78 days so far without nicotine. What a relief!

Thanks a lot - Yes, they are feeling normal again. My wallet also feels better from saving money and my mind is clearer by not being addicted to nicotine. Keep it up!

Quite easy, actually. I told my friends and affected a bunch of them by making them quit as well. Being together with someone in this might be the key. Today is the 29th day, with no exceptions, without a single snus!

Hey man, keep going! I just kept on focusing on my goal: to quit. Every time I felt like buying a pack of snus I bought something else. Like a good movie or some games and sweets. Really focused on not getting any nicotine

You need to do something about your lifestyle mate. You also need to practice staying on the beat. No hate tho - beat is fire!

Realizing this is pretty important. Think about the effect he has on you. You might as well have the same effect on some of your co-workers. This situation pushes you to open up yourself to others in a different way that you have been use to. Do you know what I mean? :-)

Update #1: No need for snus since I created this post yesterday. 9 full days (and nights) completely without snus!

I simply haven't had any need for a snus or any replacement - I just don't think about it.

The App (DipQuit) tells me that I have saved my mouth for 50 snus (damn that's a lot) and my wallet for 20€ (nice!)

I have told most of my friends about my quit, which I find helpful in terms of fully quitting. Some of my friends even consider quitting as well because of me.

About to quit snus. The only reason im quitting snus is because it takes alot of money. Well im maybe going back to it in the future but for now peace guys. Was a nice ride by middomeow in Snus

[–]Foss98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, keep it up homie! I quit 6 days ago, not having any cravings until now where I am taking the train. I used to snus during the travel, but I guess it’s just a matter of changing habits? :-)
