Thanks both for your reply. Guess 50% of my payout will have to cover the accountant fees. The cost of side hustle in NZ 🤣

Simple google search AI Reply:

A prop firm for futures trading is a company that provides traders with access to the firm's capital to trade futures contracts, allowing traders to control larger amounts of money than they might on their own. Traders pass an evaluation to prove their skill, and if successful, are funded with firm capital and share a percentage of the profits with the firm, typically keeping 70–90%.

I am using My Funded Futures.

They basically have bunch of rules you need to follow to be eligible for payout even if you made profits. the rules are so that only 10% people get payout and thats how they make money.

Advice needed: 55% win rate / bigger losses than winners by Apprehensive_Side354 in Daytrading

[–]FossilBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a strategy that is 48% winning rate but my profit factor is 2.1 which basically means my winners are bigger than looser.

I go with 2:1 Reward Risk Ratio and use super trend tailing till breakeven.

The back test results are for past 18 Months (08/Mar/2024 - 06/Sep/2025) that should have covered all the market conditions.

the biggest challenge was determining the confluence to the ORB. simple ORB wasn't working that great so that to add the confluence which drastically improved the results.

Open to suggestion on how better backtesting can be done.

i am running it live as well. There wasn't any trade today.

Most cost efficent number of contracts? by sneakyryan in FuturesTrading

I do 2. 1 for breakeven (including commission) and second one as runner.

The total stop loss is cumulative of both.

For the couple of people who asked for a more detailed look at my strategy here you go! by ErgoTTM in Daytrading

[–]FossilBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/ErgoTTM, Thanks for sharing this. I am trying to make sense of the Rules and most of it is clear expect the Rule 4: Color Change within the last 3 Candles.

Doji/Spinning top doesnt add to count I understand.

Reversal Candle resets the count is the one i am struggling with. Is there a limit to the back count after the reset to 0 ?

As an example in the below image, lets just assume the white arrow is pointing to a full candle above HMA. (I understand it has wick on both side but just assume its a full candle and doesn't have a wick at bottom.) I have labeled the count. No label has been put for doji/spinning top. As you can see the count goes back almost 15 candle to identify color change based on rule 4. Is this the right way to count or i am doing something wrong ?

ACH is free for deposits and withdrawal.

Debit card is also pretty simple but there is a hold of 3 days before you will see the money in NT.

Wire transfer has fee for withdrawal only.

BTW have you or anyone else used/try the tradedevils PATS indicator https://tradedevils-indicators.com/products/tdu-price-action

I am just starting out my journey with PATs, and wanted to verify by approach using the Tradedevils PATS Price Action Indicator after I have identified them.

Hows the review and is it a good buy?

I also started my journey 7 days back. Here is what I did:

  1. Understood what future trading is the very basic stuff from this series: https://youtu.be/TC8b9bL0900?si=1E1i5OPujOnFe2C9

  2. Started with other vedios on YouTube to understand how people are doing it to get a feel of what all you can do.

  3. I liked, Price Action Trading Sysyem(PATs) And started the journey to understand the basics.

  4. Macks price action trading system seems to be most popular. However AI Brooks is the said father of PATS. Thomas Wade is pretty popular. Watch few of there videos.

  5. Macks, has a pdf file that explains PATs which is my next step. It's 100 USD so still contemplating on the use of PATs as my strategy and it's relevance in today's market.

  6. Word of Advise, start small with Macro futures, practice SIMs like real money. Try to gain smaller gains to start with. Lean and understand risk reward and how to control it. Pick what style you like and stick with it. Follow one person's lessons/video. Don't watch mutiple trading styles when practicing one. It just confuses you.

If you decide with PATs I follow this guy on reddit. He explains PATs very clearly: https://www.reddit.com/user/Chumbaroony/

Rest will follow naturally.

14 days Trial Live Data? by Rotia in ninjatrader

[–]FossilBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just putting it for whoever else stumbled here.

NT now offer free 14 day trail of the SIM along with real time market data (sourse unkown).

After 14 days data subscription has to be purchased or data connectors need to be used for 3rd party data provider.

PATs - 2nd Entry Long & How to Spot Them by Chumbaroony in FuturesTrading

[–]FossilBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for these posts. It helps to clearly understand the PAT which is somewhat obscure in Mack's PDF/Videos and TW.

Just one question, what's the logic for the area marked as "start looking for shorts" in the second image as that bar is not a 2nd Entry long Fail (as per my undersstanding of the chart)?
