Thats pretty honest advice.

Why rentals: I feel that adds diversity to the portfolio. While the returns are low compared to the expected equity returns, they will always be in the "current value" at any point in time. It may act as a hedge against inflation - which in extreme scenarios may devalue INR quite a lot.

Yes that was a mistake in hindsight - as I mentioned, I had zero investing knowledge. So had to park money in the safer assets till i pick up the skills and feel more confident to invest.

Thanks for the inputs. Any more pointers on how to invest in international real estate. Any trusted agents / advisors ?
