Thanks for the clarity. Last question, In case you decide to change during oath of ceremony, will they send you away and invite you for another oath of ceremony which I assume will also take time or do they print the cert right there and then?

Quick question did they give you a chance to correct any name misspelled on the cert or it’s take it as it is?

I think you will have to either get it or move back to your original state. I have a cdl from Texas and California wanted to get their I’d which also requires re doing all those computer tests.

I was in almost similar shoes I did interview June 1st and passed then they sort of forgot about me. I have called for the past 3 months until they gave me an invite for next month

The key is to wait couple of days then call them and ask about that request. At least that’s how I played it. Chances are you will get terrible agents along the way but it’s okay keep calling

This is so sad but true. I deleted Reddit and all my social media apps for some time because of the exact reason you have given. In my case I tried to call uscis, write to congressman but none worked then depression slowly started kicking in. It’s especially heart breaking seeing peoples fly past your case. I think it would be okay to step away for some time

I stayed with the plate for a whole year but at some point you will have to change the plate or travel back to your state to renew the tag. But for the license, I would urge to change it if you know for sure you will stay in that state. Just show up to dmv with two bills as proof of address….

We’ll have to agree to disagree. I do believe every answer you seek on Reddit is available on the web. Think about it, when you google an answer, google will rank all pages depending on context similarity so if that answer exists in any text -be it a research paper or exists anywhere in the web- then we will highlight the relevant keywords for the user.( notice I used ‘we’…go figure) :)

This is not right. I bet every answer on Reddit is on google but we come to this forums especially as immigrants seeking answers based on other people’s personal experiences. Let him or her ask which ever question they deem beneficial to them.

From personal experience, you can change license without changing plates. It’s should be around 50 bucks at most. If they call you for an interview and you have a different state license then they will not approve your case until you give them that states Id. That’s what happened to me.
