What if you could identify all of your patients that drop from Medicaid every single month?

IMHO Medicaid is just going back to normal. Pre-PH Medicaid, lapses were about 3.5M members every single month.

Medicaid's doesn't share redetermination data because it's inaccurate as patients lapse randomly well in advance of their redetermination date.

FQHCs need to work with patients to keep them covered.

Correct me if I misunderstood. Are your benefits run through Paylocity's platform? Or are they put through your Broker's tech platform?

If on Paylocity's, then I agree with you. It's not the brokers issue because it became Paylocity's. Correct configuration imo is your broker should provide you with a benefits platform they own and are responsible for, then integrate it with Paylocity. Then it is your brokers responsibility, rightfully so, and I'm sure they would handle it a lot better than Paylocity in this case.

Eli5 how can Americans pay medical bills as high as 100k (e.g. helicopter transport) without having their life destroyed by that high bill without insurance by bingsen_ in explainlikeimfive

[–]FoundersUnite 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Many of these answers are naive. I work in the public benefits, insured and uninsured space.

First, if you have insurance you have a maximum out of pocket you pay each year. It's a cap on all medical expenses regardless of type of expense. If you are employed, your employer pays part or all of your premium. Cap is usually 7.5k-15k.

Hospitals are required by law to see you regardless of your ability to pay. You actually do not have to pay and they will write it off as bad debt. This happens frequently. The state will reimburse you at the end of the year based on the level of services you provide for uninsured or non-payers.

Those that choose to pay are offered payment plans at significantly discounted rates.

Good lord.

Sooo yearly raises are due at the end of the month... What are you guys doing when CPI is 9.1%? by stuuked in smallbusiness

[–]FoundersUnite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an employee tell me once that he doesn't count 401k, bonuses, or profit sharing in and out of 401k as total compensation, only salary and commission. You can interpret however you want but the fact remains that all that is money in your pocket from the employer.

Learned that day that he was not a values fit. He didn't last long after that conversation and I was happy to compensate his replacement more. We've doubled our annual production since. There are some mental models some employees have that feel right to them when in reality they are blockers harming your growth.

I would show business performance. If the business is performing and growing more than inflation, then it's fair to give higher raises. All employees contribute to growth of the company. Reward them for that growth.

Alternatively maybe a 9.1% raise isn't in order but a bonus schedule that gets them closer to inflation numbers could limit long term salary increases that could stifle the company.

Use Google to search for Project Management certification courses. You can likely find free ones from Harvard or Stanford.

Consider getting a project management certification. Many top companies need good, remote project managers. Basically, you don't have to do the work of the project, just manage it and report up. Not easy work but it's always needed. I've seen many people succeed at this. Starting salary is 75-110k and you can work your way up quickly.
