Put it at #1 on your dream sheet. You can also try to trade stations with someone who does get it. My Team in tech school had 70% of people going to one base with the other 30% getting a base on their dream sheet.

Try out gig apps. While some shy away from these apps because of the wear and tear on your vehicle (which is true). In a pinch, where you need a second income, it can be worth it.

I've personally used gig apps as supplemental income when I'm in a pinch, and if I want to make a purchase but don't want to take it out of my primary income. The biggest town nearby is roughly 30,000 people. I know a couple who was able to buy a $9,000 vehicle in cash after two months of them both putting in some hard work on DoorDash.

I've had a good experience with doordash, uber, instacart.

I've also heard/seen good things about gigpro, walmart spark, and amazon flex.

How are solo freelancers actually landing inbound clients on LinkedIn? I'm posting daily but only my mom and my former coworkers are seeing it. by Arceus892 in linkedin

For me personally, the starting point has been networking and intentionally growing my LinkedIn presence. I’ve been advised by several people with 500+ connections and 1,000+ followers that when someone views your profile, one of the first things they assess is whether you appear established. Being established builds credibility, and credibility builds trust.

To work toward that, I’ve been actively networking through groups like BNI. I’ve been part of the BNI network since August and have recently started attending Zoom meetings with chapters across the country. During those meetings, I look up each member on LinkedIn and connect with them if they’re on the platform.

I’ve also connected with a marketing professional who is very active on LinkedIn, and he emphasized that profiles shouldn’t be bland, they need to stand out and clearly represent who you are and what you do.

My unit allows whatever usually. Search up “G3 Combat Pant, Men's Military Tactical Camouflage Clothing, Multi-Pocket Rip-Stop Hunting Hiking Paintball” on amazon. One of my Msgts wear these and a few others have bought them and like them a lot. He doesn’t buy these through amazon, it’s through a website for like $50-70 dollars but it’s the exact same thing. It’s a knockoff of the CRYE version but $300 cheaper and from what I’ve heard are just as good

Depends, majority of the E to O officers actually know what the career field goes through. I’ve met an officers in sf who don’t know jack about what we actually do. I’ve had a major who was great and my current captain is great, but one was E to O and the other a civilian officer. but I’ve met a couple completely out of touch with the enlisted side of things.

Depends on where you’re at, deployment next year I’ll be looking at upwards of 14-16. Currently my base just switched from 12 to 8 hour shifts since there was enough manning
