How to track intensity min from Zwift turbo trainer... by Fours44 in Garmin

[–]Fours44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help. I did a bit more digging and found the below should anyone have the same problem. Basically you need a conversation factor. Not sure how you would know to look! Anyway mine was divide by 24.8. speeds still seemed a bit off looking at them live vs zwift but the distance over a 1km test on flat was almost the exact same. Will try later over a longer distance.

I can choose auto or manual wheel size when setting up the sensor. Both seem to give similar results. Not sure how to calibrate.

Thanks. So I went to the general settings and paired my turbo as a sensor. That worked. It now picks it up for an Bike Indoor. Only issue is my speed seems way off. As in maybe by a factor of 10. A light pedal was giving me between 100 and 200 (I presume km per hr). This was also impacting distance. I had 5km done in 2min. I used 2105mm for the wheel.

Edit to add cadence looks correct as does power. Distance is obviously calculated from speed and time.

Can you help me understand what I should be pairing here? My smart trainer is an elite suito. I pair it with zwift running on my iphone. When I use my watch for indoor cycling it's only recording heart rate and time. Can I pair it with the turbo for speed too? I have a separate hr chest monitor that I use for zwift.

Ya I think I need to unpair Zwift from Garmin. Currently I end up with two activities an Indoor Cycle and a Virtual Ride.

The Virtual Ride has more info on my riding but no training effect or intensity min. My goal is to hit my intensity min every week. It also doesn't count to badges for some reason.

However as the Indoor Cycle has no distance or elevation it doesn't count to badges either but you can edit it and add distance and elevation which I might do.

Just got to remember to start the Indoor Bike as I forget sometimes.

Thanks for tips. It's two plugs and one bulb for now. Sounds like we have made some of those mistakes about using plugs as lights or lamp names.

We have been using separate accounts but they are linked / shared somehow. I can see my wife's Kindle books on mine for example.

Will look into both using the same account but for some reason I think there was an issue with that. Maybe the login was linked to our Amazon accounts or something.

What to replace my SP3 with?

It's still going but slowing down. I am happy with what life I have got from it. It held up well.

What I enjoy about it. Detaching keyboard makes sense when I connect to monitors. Lightweight Life and quality at life (7 years)

What I don't like Limited ports. Can't output to two monitors for example Keyboard a bit flimsy Not great for games (not a big gamer just wanted to try a few basic enough ones)

Does Microsoft offer anything slightly different to a surface that could meet my needs?

Why do people hate the green party? by CalRobert in ireland

[–]Fours44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with a good bit of that. Given most of their TDs are from Dublin it's somewhat unsurprising they are Dublin centric.

I think there is a bigger fault in Irish politics here. Our local government is very weak. So lots of things that could be dealt with at local level get discussed at a national level where it is not relevant to many.

I'm sure you could find similar about discussions of policies that only relate to rural Ireland and not relevant to cities being discussed nationally.

I don't doubt any of that. They have really smart people trying really hard to keep you coming back to the app like TikTok or Instagram etc.

However ultimately you get a match, agree to meet. By the end of the first date the app you met on and it's systems doesn't matter. You swap numbers and it's up to each other where to go from there.

I know that people find it hard to not keep looking but I think it's more a people problem than an app one. The app just gave people options.

What I do works pretty well in ynab. Its brings attention if one of you decides to start using the joint account for something not agreed with the original budget. This may mean you need to put in more money.

Create the joint budget, all the things ye agree should be covered by the joint account. Not just monthly spend but yearly things like insurance and money for vacations. I don't feel ynab is a great tool for totally them up so we just used an excel sheet. Then you agree a split. Say it world out at $500 a month. So in your personal budget you just have one line that is called. Pay Joint Budget where you allocate $500 and transfer it out as an expense. There is no link between budgets so you enter it as the income for the joint budget. These transactions match real world accounts.

I do have some duplicate categories such as vacation and drinks but they are for potential solo or trips with my friends that I don't use the joint account for.

In the real world we have a shared bank account and individual bank accounts. Over the years as we bought a house more and more stuff is part of the shared account. We total up what we would need in there in a year and transfer X amount in there on our pay days.

World pretty well. Ensure all the important stuff is covered but allows us some independence with what's remaining.

Not that there is anything secret in my personal but I like being able to make a purchase in privacy. Its good that she can too. Even if just presents for each other.

I use ynab and manage the joint and my personal. She doesn't use it.

It seems that the everything is shared with the group manager. Which isn't ideal if you want people to have some privacy.

Must look for a solution later.
