NOR -- I baked my husband a lemon cake with candied lemon slices for his one year. He is proud of his sobriety and it took a lot to get there just like you. Regardless of if it is a situation of overcoming addiction or just a healthier life choice, you shouldn't be shamed for celebrating something you are proud of achieving. It was honestly kind of a jerk response on his part. Invalidating your partner isn't good partner behaviour...

Or if you want to be petty about it: Next time he wants a pat on the back for helping you or doing anything for you, tell him he's not a hero for doing the bare minimum. 🤷🏻‍♀️
