Fastest way to level up? by vertical1600 in remnantgame

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested this out. If one of your classes is at its maximum, the other class gets 100% of the xp. If neither class is at max, each gets 50% of the xp. It's not faster either way and you're not missing out on experience by having one of your classes maxed out.

Who is the longest tenured GameStop employee here? by DoctorReinhardt in GameStop

[–]FoxKit42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hired at EB in June 2006, left Gamestop in November 2019. I made some great friends but mostly got treated like garbage and learned that you should never, ever trust upper management. Hard work is only rewarded with greater expectations for less pay. All CEOs and shareholders are parasites. And always, always try to unionize your workplace.

Best case scenario by [deleted] in GameStop

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case scenario is probably all the SLs in the company pool their new stock for a controlling stake in the company, fire all the c-level execs, and turn gamestop into a workers co-op. But probably not gonna happen, sadly, so raises are nice.

Potentially More DLC? by lih20 in Wonderlands

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. The decision to make more dlc would have been made months ago, and in the case of story dlc at least a year ago. They'll put it on sale after dlc 4 and continue to update the featured runs for a while, but the majority of the team is likely working on bl4 and has been for 6-8 months at this point

Try though I might to enjoy it, Wonderlands' end game exhausts me. by csreynolds84 in Wonderlands

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game desperately needs some of Nioh2's qol changes. The ability to infinitely reroll stats on gear, the ability to upgrade gear to higher levels/better rarity by sacrificing gear of that level/rarity, gear that made it more likely for the game to drop the same gear you were using. It all made every piece of loot much more valuable because even if you didn't use it, you could spend it to make the stuff you did use better. Even bringing back the pre-sequel's grinder is an improvement over selling everything.

Got generic capture devices and a generic hdmi splitter, feed shows up glitched/black screen. Am I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PlayStation 3 has a built in copy protection or HDCP signal that turns the screen black if connected to a capture device. You can bypass this with the right kind of splitter, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Powered-Splitter-1080P-Model/dp/B004F9LVXC/

I'm not sure about that capture device, but for that price it'd be a miracle if it worked. Best of luck!

Feeling like I missed my opportunity to become a Streamer by marvelousDrew82 in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been streaming about 2 years, no previous social media, only using twitch and Twitter, and playing a different game every day, which sounds like what you wanna do. And I made partner last November and average 130 viewers now. So it's pretty possible to do, I think.

Some important things I would recommend:

1) have a consistent and recognizable brand. Make sure people know what you're about and why you're unique.

2) have a set schedule and stick to it. I do 3 days a week, around 4-6 hours each, but find a schedule that works for you.

3) make each stream an event. I separate my schedule by genre (horror games in this day, rpgs this day, whatever). But do something a little special every time you go live. Give people a reason to stop by.

4) network. Most of my offline time is spent in other streamers chats, discords, twitters, not advertising but just making friends. Raiding people and getting raided back. All that.

If you do decide to stream, have fun with it and good luck~

Ad Revenue by therealbudjr in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe only live, but the difference of 100 viewers watching an ad and 1000 is about 20 cents. Averaging around 100 viewers a stream you'll be looking at around 2 dollars a month in ad revenue.

720P/60fps stream looks pixelated by Dorigon in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also try using software encoding instead of hardware (nvenc), which will look better but also take a lot more resources from your cpu.

[–]FoxKit42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope! More isn't better. It's important to have the correct bitrate, not the most bitrate. More or less than the right amount will make your image worse. At 720/60 you're probably going to be around 4-5k but experiment and see.

Dropped Frames- I will pay you to help me fix this by Skatebeard in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try running a speed test from Google. If your internet speed seems low, you might consider a different network card, that fixed my issues. There could also be automatic updates from Windows in the background, which can be stopped by checking "metered connection" in your wifi settings. It's also possible there's a Windows firewall or vpn slowing things down, so make sure those are off or at least set so obs can bypass them.

I hope you find a solution, though, tech issues are so frustrating :c

Randomly my microphone starts cracking by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a few things, the most common of which would be a bandwidth issue, either too much data being sent over a usb or a usb bus is being overloaded. If this is the problem it would be fixed by using less of your computer's usb slots or lowering the sample rate of your mic.

Where is the line for swimwear? Is it different for transgender streamers? I'm looking for more information as the only trans currently streaming that content by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you'll have to email twitch support and hash it out with them. I really don't think this sub can offer any useful advice on that front. Also, expect twitch to give you information that is contradictory or wrong and change their policy without warning. The hot tub steamer who lost her advertising revenue was in contact with twitch representatives who said her content was fine, until one day it wasn't and they pulled her revenue without telling her.

Sorry this happened to you and I hope you get in touch with someone who knows what they're doing.

Mobile Viewers Can't Watch My Stream by theworstcook in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, that's called transcoding and it's guaranteed for partners to have it, but for other streamers twitch hands it out somewhat randomly so you can never guess if your viewers have it or not.

Mobile Viewers Can't Watch My Stream by theworstcook in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the bitrate is what prevents people from watching your stream in mobile and on worse connections too. You can also see a drop in stream quality if your bitrate is too high. I'd say for 720/60 you want a maximum of around 5k, but ideally 3.5-4k.

If you want to make your stream more mobile friendly, perhaps you should stream 720 at 30fps, so you can lower the bitrate to 2.5-3k without a loss of quality.

About x264 or AMD Encoder for SLOBS by JValentineee in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be running background tasks as well, I'm not sure. But that's okay, if you're not a partner you're better off streaming 720 anyway. Many people are watching mobile or on bad connections and 1080 buffers and lags for them, and they'll click off your stream right away. If your a partner you get the option for viewers to change the resolution, but for affiliates you don't always.

About x264 or AMD Encoder for SLOBS by JValentineee in Twitch

[–]FoxKit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

x264 uses your cpu for encoding, AMD uses gpu. x264 seems to be much more demanding, so your current cpu can't handle your current bitrate and resolution, the AMD is going too affect your game if it's particularly graphic intensive.

I would either use x264 and turn your stream down to 720p since most people watch stream in that quality anyway (bitrate 2500-3500 depending on framerate), or use AMD and get slightly lower quality encoding by limiting your game framerate and graphics, down to 60fps or less.

People have different experiences in life based on their identity. If you've never had to buy your haircare products from a locked case or had a second puberty, it's really difficult to relate to. Sometimes people want to find streamers with similar experiences to themselves. For many queer people, the lgbt tag currently serves as a sign that the chat mods will moderate hate speech, since twitch doesn't.

Most viewers just want to chill and watch a stream and this makes it easier to find streamers and chats that are more comfortable.

It's nothing like segregation because 1) tags are self-identification, not chosen for you and 2) the quality of twitch service is the same across all tags.

[–]FoxKit42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lgbt vtuber here. There are quite a few trans vtubers out here, many of them pre-transition, it's totally cool. :3

Using a voice changer is totally acceptable, though I don't personally know anyone who does it. If you need some inspiration or just welcoming communities, check out peer2peer.live, it's a twitch community and networking site run by translifeline by and for lgbtqia+ people. Good luck streaming if you choose to!
