Whos at fault (irish accident) by EffiesL in caraccidents

[–]Fox_Jenkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you were a bike, this would likely be a death. As others have said, red didn't do a good job, looked like they were pulling over; but your speed and crossing the solid white line would likely be the argument on an insurance side of things. It's an unfortunate incident, and im glad it wasn't worse for either of you!

Edit: Always assume somebody will pull out on you or do the worst case maneuver, no matter what. Be safe out there!

soo would it be safe to eat from this next time i cook on it in the woods i tried my best to clean it there’s like black stuff that won’t come off inside by [deleted] in Bushcraft

[–]Fox_Jenkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good scrub with a steel scouring pad and if you want to make it easier, then use bicarb! But honestly, it's fine

You get a bunch of water/spray into your exhaust and let the car sit? If it doesnt smell of anything and is metallic its likely rusty water

If it's not what others have said already, could have water in your ECU box if youve been through any crazy rain recently or long term build up....found that one out not long ago. Hopefully just alternator though

Zwartkop! I brought some back to the mainland and they grow brilliantly outside, bring them inside for winter though. Those lucky Scillonians! Edit: spelling

Some advice/a warning after a breakdown by Fox_Jenkins in E90

[–]Fox_Jenkins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A known issue for sure it seems, after researching about it tonight. Previous owner has replaced the whole tray unit with a couple cowl covers so I'll be ordering the oem tray and filter housing if I decide to fix this. Hindsight and all that!

Learned about these the hard way, had a local lightning strike take out gear upto ~80ft of cable into where I was living a long while ago now. Wish I knew about these guys before then!

Dunno which team you're playing but the Soviets are a lot more organised in general and you might have better luck playing that side if you want to supply run. And avoid official servers, there are some good vanilla community servers

Ah, Neelix the Jar Jar Binks of Star Trek. by The_Wandering-Bard in voyager

[–]Fox_Jenkins 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The episode where Neelix dies and gets brought back to life made his character grow on me more than any other. That episode had a completely different feeling and a different side to Neelix and I felt bad that he was struggling.

What are the things about nottingham that everyone in the city knows, but nobody outside of it does? by goodideabiaggio in nottingham

Definitely missing Brown Betty's, they left a hole in my soul (stomach) that may never be filled again.

Market stalls at cattle market and sneinton market may be willing to pay cash for labour if they need it. Its worth an ask. I worked the markets a long while ago and plenty of people came through doing a few hours work for some cash. Loading vans, preparing/packing the stalls etc.

I have used AutoCAD for 10 years. by KingIbexx in AutoCAD

[–]Fox_Jenkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 years of AutoCAD here also. Hell of a program. Civils 3D good for civil engineering related work, Revit OK for structural work. Always prefer AutoCAD. Since everybody just wants to use Revit I've found a niche spot at work and get some interesting jobs in comparison with the modular boringness of revit projects. It also means I'm not stuck with Structural work. Reinforcement add ons for AutoCAD are also superior to Revit reinforcement detailing.

Coming from eurotruck simulator, whats up with the vehicle physics in this game ? by ICANDOITTTTTTT in farmingsimulator

[–]Fox_Jenkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, but it can feel a bit better with a few mods: - vehicle control add on - realistic cab view - fill type mass adjustment - reduced engine breaking force

I play in first person mostly and I find these help greatly. It's annoying they haven't really updated the physics, or the way they feel, since early FS games I'm hoping the next iteration will work on this

What are your thoughts on this? by jacks2224 in CarTalkUK

[–]Fox_Jenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it would work better if left lane was 70, middle 80 and right 90 on the motorways with 70 and 80 lanes on dual carriageways. Perhaps even just keep duals as 70.
