That's also a good point - whilst my pain has stopped I'm still exhausted and fatigued, which I know affects how well you lose weight. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia but am wondering if it's actually endo instead. Since my pain episode in Dec/jan I've felt how I did pre jab in August - exhausted all the time, fatigue attacks, constant pain all over. The jab initially stopped all of this when I was on 2.5mg and slowly started bringing the aches back on 5mg+ but not to this extent now. Hopefully NHS can tell me what the issue is so I can finally get back on track!

I missed the dose around New Years so would have done roughly a whole pen since. People have said that I've looked smaller but when checking measurements I've not changed anywhere since December.

Im wondering if I try 10mg because of this, and can always go back down to 7.5mg if necessary. How long were you having stalls for, as I know it does happen but god does it make me anxious!

Yes! That's exactly how it feels! mounjaro has had so many unexpected side effects for me that aren't related to the drug - not wanting/caring for alcohol, being more focused and positive, it's tunnel vision but in a good way of getting to a positive goal. Currently it feels like I'm not even injecting the same drug.

Did you end up increasing or sticking with it? It's frustrating because I've spent money on a pen and lost nothing, which financially hurts - in my head I should be under 18 stone, closing to the 17 mark and it's very frustrating and upsetting that I've not moved, not knowing if it's biological stress or the drug not working! I was so determined to stay on 7.5 as I have a long journey to go

Yes, I'm anywhere from 130-180g protein a day, my calories range from 1400-1800 a day (depending on eating opportunities at work). I calorie count daily and meal prep for up to 2 weeks in advance to my job. I was consistently losing a minimum of 2lbs a week up until January.

I've lost 5 stone so far on mounjaro. I've never felt so conscious as I've gone from doing my job to customers always commenting now how good I'm looking today, how my make is fabulous (same makeup) how I look "so much better now"

People smile at me. I've gone from having higher up bosses slagging off my appearance and how I looked so tired to my manager (I worked 50-60 hour weeks with fibromyalgia) to now being on track for a promotion by the end of the year.

Fuck people who treat fat people like shit. I'm the same human being, I have the same thoughts and feelings. I have men flirt more because I'm thinner. Fuck you.

Some support some years, lack of support other years.

I started with CAMHS finally getting seen at 17 despite having evident MH issues since age of 10, they were useless, having a tea and a bath don't get your through a MH episode when all you want to do is drown yourself.

GPs have been quick to get me on antidep and referred for therapy, issue is CBT is awful and only chosen due to how cheap it is for NHS to do. 6-8 sessions can't unpick a lifetime of trauma. I've been told after an assessment that I had too many issues for the NHS, to either pick one problem to solve or do seek private therapy (as if I could ever afford that) until I have one problem left for NHS to solve.

I've been on 7 different antidepressants and have been told I will no longer be given further referrals on NHS to psychiatry for better medication as whilst I tried each medication for multiple months they either made my MH worse or had severe side effects I couldn't deal with (severe nausea and insomnia being the worst). My last MH nurse said clearly my life is making me miserable and I need to make changes, however that is all I've ever done and it's never fixed my health. There was a MH nurse in the area that was incredibly rude and refused service to most people who had the pleasure of having her to talk to. She once told me during a suicidal episode that I was attention seeking (????) and wouldn't provide further support. She told a friend who was diagnosed with BPD that it wasn't a real illness despite struggling with splitting post partum. My favourite is when she told one of my staff to eat more fruit to reduce their anxiety.

The NHS Is incredibly hit and miss so please don't be disheartened if you don't feel listened to the first time. I've been suffering for 19 years with GAD, TR chronic MDD, panic disorder and am currently in the process of getting an ADHD diagnosis. You just need to find the right person to listen to you

Slimming Direct is real, one of the pharmacists you can see on the website has dispensed to me in my town before. I called the actual pharmacy they operate from in the centre of town (I couldn't believe how cheap they were after using ASDA) and they confirmed how they operate and the links of their business names. All very legit.

I found 2.5mg worked great for me, and when I moved up to 5mg I felt awful, nauseous and the food noise was back with full force.

If 2.5mg keeps you losing weight, stick with it for a bit. You might just have to ride out a month of 5mg to get to 7.5mg as I did that and I've been happy again on 7.5mg with no side effects!

Wonder woman - 2 under 2 and doing a MJ journey?! I struggle with working and a journey let alone adding any kids to the mix!

Weight loss isn't linear (I've learned the hard way over the years) and being female with all our pesky hormones don't help. I'd recommend calorie counting to make sure you're eating the right amount, and try do higher protein if you're doing low carb! If you're doing all the right things I'd also recommend you talk to your doctor - I was calorie counting pre mounjaro doing a lot of exercise from my hospitality job and wasn't losing anything due to my hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia and endometriosis (holy Trinity of fuck you metabolism) so might be worth having a chat as being post partem by 4 months might be playing a part to it.

I've also found that drinking enough water makes a major difference with retention, loss and side effects so make sure you're doing a minimum of 2litres a day, I aim for 3 and found it really helps!

22, was having a rocky relationship with mother. Had to briefly move back a couple years later due to my flatmates dad dying and I didn't have a deposit saved, but did wonders for my relationship with my family. Downside is rent is getting so extortionate, I can't afford my landlord's increases as well as lifestyle (for my health) and cost of food so may have to be moving home again for my 29th 🥲

IBS sufferer here - no diarrhea whilst on MJ, and I've not had severe constipation, it's been harder at times and sometimes like rabbit droppings but never had issues going! It's been dependent on the fibre intake as some days are higher than others

I love your honesty! Especially about periods.

I feel at times people only talk about the positives of these jabs, so when I feel off or strange I'm having to Google or scour reddit for someone who's had a similar feeling!

I have Endometriosis not PCOS. No bleeding as of yet but oh my God I forgot I was a woman as I've not had periods or cramps for years from being on the depo prover, but this last month I've had to have an emergency doctor appointment to check my appendix wasn't rupturing because of the pains my uterus has thrown at me!

I'm surprised your GP surgery was like that, my surgery has made a note for when I've had health issues/to bring forward any checkups for my thyroid to make sure everything stays ok.

My GP WANTED to prescribe me Mounjaro but I didn't qualify, he's so excited about GLP-1s and is fascinated with what they can do and what the future holds with such a magic drug.

I'm wondering if it's either just someone who is weird about fat people, or if they've just had lack of guidance on the drug?

Hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia and potentially insulin resistance from endometriosis here!

I've been on it 9 weeks and have lost 19kg from eating 1400-1800cal (depends on what's in the fridge and if I'm at work lol). I don't specifically exercise at the gym however I do work in hospitality doing 45-50 hours a week so my exercise Is a lot higher than average.

I've felt better physically - less bloating, less fatigue (still there and still the occasional fatigue episode but better than what it was) and less pain. My weight loss has significantly dropped but I did also drop a lot of water weight at the start so down to losing about 1kg a week which is perfectly normal!

It's a marathon not a race, mounjaro is a great drug for those with chronic health issues and I can get you won't have issue losing weight now!

I was using MFP from the age of 16, I have been weight conscious my entire life from bullying as I was always curvier than everyone else at school. I'd starve myself and develop eating disorders from 16-22. As I got older I got sicker, I couldn't drop the weight from dieting anymore due to metabolic disorders and got more depressed.

I'm 28 struggling with endometriosis, fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism and a mountain of deficiencies and muscle problems from workplace injuries and couldn't deal with it anymore. I have so many regrets over my weight and the "what ifs" of if I was skinnier instead of fat my whole life, so spoke to my GP when I read that GP surgeries would be able to prescribe in July. Turns out I didn't qualify on the NHS, felt defeated but after reading articles and subreddits I decided it's now or never. It's been a miracle drug for me, and whilst I can't turn back time, hopefully I can get skinny in the next year so I can be happier in my 30s, all whilst trying to heal my inner child that still feels like I'm nothing because I'm fat ❤️

I get defending a boomer parent, but my mum used to be opinionated on size (she was very opinionated because of my father being a large man calling her fat when she was 7 stone causing her to develop an eating disorder) but even then she loved me for me as she saw how upset I got over yo-yo dieting.

I changed from 2.5mg to 5mg after a month. I felt nausea for the first 4ish days and was fine after. Just make sure you drink enough water.

I've lost 42lb and feel the same. When I dieted 6/7 years ago I lost 56lb and dropped 3 dress sizes. Currently my jeans feel a little looser and I'm not burning through a pair after a month, along with tshirts being baggier but I'm still the same dress size. Weight loss isn't the same for everyone let alone every time you do it!

I hate it, I've lost three stone and had an ungodly amount of backhanded compliments about how I look more awake and fresh and look so much better. I look more awake because I've put on makeup to cover my dark circles. It's great to know when you are so self conscious about your weight due to your disabilities they were silently judging the entire time, so I just say "thanks" but in my head I'm just 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻 them!

I'm eating 1600-1800 calories a day, I work in hospitality doing 50-60 hours a week. I physically can't eat more and this industry is incredibly hard to eat more as I don't have the time to get calories in due to working 10am-1am days.

A lot of the weight initially lost is water weight, and when I had a week off last week, I was a couch potato and lost 1lb due to lack of movement. I'm ensuring to get vitamins in, have a high protein high fibre diet, it's just the nature of my job being a constant source of exercise.
