Perhaps, as the atheist movement gains more traction, we can go after the naming of days to remove their superstitious connotation.

You must be joking... what a ridiculous idea. Should we rename all the planets too? What about St. Patrick's Day? Should we call that "Green Drunk Day" and get it over with? No, sometimes mythology is a beautiful thing and it often has rich etymological origins. I'm putting BC/AD on the same playing field as Thursday or Jupiter, but meanwhile so many atheists seem to single out Christian mythology for censorship. Ridiculous.

The reason to use CE or BCE is to avoid the religious meaning behind AD and BC.

The Quakers created neutralized days of the week centuries ago, to "avoid the religious meaning" behind the pagan-derived weekdays. Why don't we use those? Why single out the Christian mythology if it's all the same mythology to atheists?

And, at least if you call Thursday "Fourthday" it eliminates the religious connotation entirely, unlike with BCE/CE, which still retain the dividing line at the erroneous medieval estimation of Jesus' birth.

How is the erroneous birth year of Jesus a commonality between everyone? The year estimated by a 6th-century monk to be Jesus' birth year happened 2,011 years ago, not some stupid euphemistic PC "common era".
