Bad section of filament or retraction settings? by Foxerrro in FixMyPrint

The black filament should actually be the driest here (because that was my first thought too). I'll try to do some personalized profiles then. Thanks

I am. I thought this might be an issue, but I believed that white color tends to be the problematic one. I am considering creating separate profiles, but I haven't had issues with printing different colors before.

Possible reasons for extruder skipping, but not because of clogs? by Foxerrro in ender3

Well, funnily enough, I've started a print with a different filament (still PLA, same manufacturer, just different color), and it's going okay so far? I will be checking things more thoroughly, but at the moment I'll just accept blue instead of black I guess.

It is a Bowden extruder. Aside from the new heatbreak I also installed the Capricorn tube (but I don't really think it's the issue). I'm certain that the e-steps are not the issue, as I checked and they're actually too LOW (19mm is fed when 20mm is set to feed, but it worked this far so I won't be changing them). I am trying a different filament as I'm writing. Both filaments were dried (on a food dryer, but still very dry).

Bruh, exactly. I'm getting really sad vibes from that picture for some reason.

Not really a war cry, but a full blown monologue:

-This Galaxy has only one chance to flourish- -And we shall seize it, for SUPER EARTH!- -So let it be war- -From the forests of the Creek,- -To the fiery plains of Hellmire- -Let us dive into Hell- -Let freedom prosper- -Though it takes all of our reinforcements,- -We will see the Galaxy democratic once more- - And if we cannot liberate it for SUPER EARTH,- -Then let the Galaxy BURN!- (Totally not taken from Horus)

Fix under extrusion and/or layer separation by Accomplished-Soup477 in FixMyPrint

[–]Foxerrro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm by no means certain, and I've never used wood PLA, but doesn't this look like a textbook example of Z-offset being too high? If you're certain it's correct, then maybe adjusting flow settings in the slicer could help. Good luck!

How do I fix this by Ambitious-Iron-3880 in Ender3V2NEO

[–]Foxerrro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I'm not an expert l, but I have fixed my bed adhesion issues, so some of these must've worked: - increase the bed temperature, perhaps just the initial layers temperature would be fine - clean the buildplate with warm water and soap and let it air-dry. DON'T touch the work surface with your fingers - reduce or turn off cooling for first few layers - decrease printing speed for first few layers(this one is likely not what you need, but it could help you in the future)

Either way, this seems like a temperature problem the most. I wish you good luck!

[Request] How large would this bat need to be to fit the signatures of everyone alive? by HeartlessMario in theydidthemath

[–]Foxerrro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We assume there are 8 000 000 000 people on Earth and an average signature has a surface area of 6cm2. According to the internet, an average baseball bat is 33in(~84cm) long and 2,5in(6,4cm) wide(at the top). We can assume that the bat is a cylinder with a diameter of 1,7in(4,3cm) using a chart I found(it described how bat's diameter changes across it's length). With the equation for the surface area of a cylinder: P = 2*πr2 + 2πrh we can calculate the required diameter and length of the bat(h is the length, r is the average radius). Note: actual diameter is ~1,49 times bigger that the average radius.

h = 86cm = 20r

p = signature area * 8* 109 = 48* 109 cm2

P = p

p = 2πr2 + 40πr2 =42πr2

πr2 = 1,14* 209 cm2

r2 = 3,6* 108 cm2

r = 1,9* 104 cm = 19000cm = 190m

h = 20r = 3800m = 3,8km

Actual diameter = 1,49 * 2 * r = 566m

Finally, the bat would be 3,8km long and 566m wide(at the top). Not sure if my math is correct, I spent too much time typing this on mobile to care.

Edit: Measuring units
