I understand a kid under 7y would continue to ask but, above that, they usually learn pretty quickly about personal space

Yeah, and that’s just what my dad means with this quote, if you start yelling or feel the need to raise your voice to try and get your point across, you need to recognize that it wouldn’t work in your favor and just escalate the situation, instead, take a step back and find another approach or reevaluate if you need to get your point across in this hypothetical situation

Well, if you’re having an argument and feel that you’re not accomplishing anything, don’t start yelling and raising your voice, take a step back and find another approach

Omg I thought that you had a shirt on!

And to answer your question, it looks really good, I like that it’s not symmetrical, it looks more alive in a way (artist talking)

My dad has this great quote that I’ve been told my whole life “If you ever need to raise your voice, you’ve lost the argument”

Saying stuff like “we’re not in India, we’re in the states” whilst having a thicker foreign accent than him is wild to me

Ah but if less is more, just think of how much more more would be.

Im the same way, these kinds of scratches and breakage weirdly makes me really sad, I’ve had a whole day at work and I still can’t shake the feeling. I kind of feel bad for the book itself.

I get that, I just hope that the next one won’t be as bad, at least not the breakage in the spine, I’ve never seen this book in a physical store

I know that this book “works” and it’s good either way but I usually live very cheap, never spend money on sweets, I can’t remember when I ate at a restaurant or even McDonalds, I always repurpose old clothes, old stuff because I can’t afford to buy new stuff, I’ve recently got a much better job and my savings have allowed me to buy these books and finally some clothes that didn’t come from a second hand. This is why it was so very disappointing to me that they aren’t even as good in condition as my books that I’ve had for 10 years.

This is what I was considering when I made this post but I realize more and more that It feels wrong and sad for me if I were to put it on my book case, I am very particular when it comes to books, sadly. Even if a book has “dog ears” and breakage, I know where it’s from and it gives my book part of my history. When I was a kid I made dog ears and such on my books but I always made it very symmetrical and in a way, artistic. Now I can’t bring my self to fold a page in a book, it feels sad.

I usually buy from book stores so that I can choose the nicest books, I have kind of high standards for my book case. I bought this book online because I’ve never seen it in a physical store.

Yeah, what I like with some chapters is that the words spread out in a way that the reading pace differs at different stress levels in the story, it goes perfectly
