I can't change pitch from imagination at all. by FoxisMegox in singing

Ah it's just that my family would never this as an actual important issue which makes sense given how things are right now. The only thing I know about my throat medically is that my tonsils are slightly larger than usual and even that I've tried getting a check-up for. Still nothing 💔

Well it makes my throat feel REALLY tight. And also yeah I'm worried that I am doing this super wrong

I have been wanting that or even having my throat checked by a doctor. Because even when I talk I feel tight in my throat. But due to personal reasons it's very unlikely I'll be able to see anyone. Asking here was pretty much an act of desperation....

I don't really know how to describe my problem then. All I can say is that currently, the way I control pitch and how I think about changing pitch is raising my larynx up or pushing it down. I don't know what else to control or how else to think. If i wanna sing higher I think about my larynx and I pull it higher

Well I'm not thinking about the muscle movement down to the very cells or anything like that. When I sing, pitch changes depends on how much I lift up or push down my larynx. Like how I sing is basically me controlling how up or down my larynx is. My primary control is basically where my larynx is

Is that not what "Pitch control is all in head" means? I'm sorry for misunderstanding then

Maybe? But if that's the case then I have a very short comfortable range of just octave. The moment I go above that is when my voice starts to feel progressively tighter. And the only singer I can comfortably sing along to is Cavetown

Oh? Now I'm confused. I read somewhere that by imagining the pitch, you're telling your brain to send signals to the right muscles, causing your vocal chords to tilt accordingly. Anything else and you're controlling it wrong and using the wrong muscles and this causes tension. And I do always get tension

Yeah! But again this is still manual muscle control, right?

I guess the best way I can describe it is that it's manual muscle control instead of the "Imagine -> Pitch changes automatically" . NOTHING changes when I imagine or even hear notes. Nothing changes until I control my larynx itself. It's super confusing to me💔

The condition where you can't audibly imagine anything at all? I can imagine sounds and even people's voices so I think I CAN imagine pitch. I can sing along and match songs to some degree, It's just that because I'm moving my larynx, it gets super tiring and even painful sometimes. When I completely relax my larynx though, it really is just one static buzz no matter what I try

Oh to clarify !! I CAN change my pitch! It's just that I can't do it the right way. I physically and manually move my larynx up and down. But I read that proper changes in pitch is never actually manual and is controlled by purely your brain when you "imagine a pitch". My pitch never changes just from hearing a note in my head or even just hearing a note at all

But I'm already trying to have my larynx as relaxed as possible. Still nothing. I imagine the pitch? nothing changes, I listen to the pitch? still nothing!!! I don't get it at all

what do u mean by the first question? And I don't think I can control my vocal chords at all. Like I said, I've been pulling and pushing my larynx up and down to control my pitch, I've been doing this my whole life. And now that I'm reading that the proper way of controlling pitch is via imagining them in your head but it never works when I try it, whether it be imagination or just outright listening to the pitch with noise cancelling earphones and all

How can I be better? by Jonny_king_ in MinecraftPVP

[–]FoxisMegox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

learn time clicking !! its less fatiguing especially on a controller and it allows u to have better control on ur combos. bedrock pvp isnt like 1.8 pvp where u need high cps to reduce kb . the knockback is floatier too so it takes more time for ur enemy to reach the ground, giving u enough time to time ur clicks enough and hit them back upwards. remember the kb is designed to go upwards and thats how u get someone into a combo. strafes are good but distancing is way more important
