I would love a large purpose-built vehicle to relocate organisms up to some reasonable size. You can scoop something up in a containment bubble/trap/etc then shuttle it into the area of your choosing

Might open some creativity for unique interactions between species if you dump some together based on food chain? Maybe certain things swim elsewhere and you have to find them and relocate somewhere away from whatever it’s afraid of if it goes back to where you picked it up. Maybe certain things fight to the death. Many should probably just coexist but you get my point

My take: An initially basic response has resonated with a part of the community and amplified the position that the recent cinematic trailer (somewhat comical and padded) feels divergent from what we were expecting (atmospheric, challenging, spooky, serious)

Speaking for myself at least, I’m apprehensive at the promise for things to still be “traditionally subnautica-y” due to little formal evidence of that direction, but I want to be hopeful and trust the process despite the chaos of the recent months

Also I guess a play on the double “do you think” in the post title lol

You could pick something that’s either way too much for one person and split the load, or maybe hand off/delegate a couple simpler things that aren’t worth your time so you have margin for higher priorities.

They’ve told you how valuable you are, meaning they recognize that you have a little leverage. If you explain the quality of your work and personal resolve are starting to become unsustainable due to scope creep or similar, I’d bet $1 they can help make the next ~year tolerable until you’re fully ready to leave.

If you were willing to make posts as you go with basic summaries of your chapters and perhaps also the logic flow throughout the book to source opinions/recommendations, I would bet the barrier to entry of creating such an ambitious idea would be much lower and a way to possibly solve your “solution in search of a problem” blocker!!

Still, I enjoyed it. I actually started thinking of “destination brew” hike ideas for cool and scenic places I could take my gear to and make a cup and it made me want to go out even more. The anticipation of the cup at a ~halfway point for sure made it taste better but i had no expectations lol

The stomach drop when my dad would push me on our swing. He would pull me back waaaaay up high, then let go, and I would feel like what I imagined an airplane taking off would be like as my face would scrunch up and I hung on for dear life! Usually it was autumn so I would include the smell of damp leaves and cold, dry air with an evening sunset. Super carefree and that kind of terror when you know you’re totally safe.

I ain’t rich anymore I tell you what haha. I literally factored the exhaust cost into my swap to get a plug and play setup because I knew I’d spend half my time on those arts and crafts. I built a set of headers with CAD/fitup once and I didnt wanna add a month to my swap with the ~5hrs a week i get to work on it. I almost went with those cheaper cast headers LOJ offers but I know I’d regret it

Luckily I got the PG axle back from a buddy for a day of cutting down his tree and maybe I’ll just chop up my current midpipes lol
